Oh boy, I don't know how to cope with this waiting anymore. It is really doing my head in. I know that there are people out there who have waited much, much longer to get to the point we are at right now, but I HATE THIS. Its so maddening when someone else is controlling your life :angry: . I know we just sent packet 3 back on the 6th of May, but I have seen a few people on here recently get packet 4 within a couple of weeks (one or two even less than that). Every time the post man comes I run downstairs like its Christmas morning and I am a kid waiting for a new bike and all I get is some crummy new underwear. :(

I guess it would help if I were still working, but it got so slow at work that I'm home all the time now. I get lots of stuff done to help with the move but I think I am slowly losing my grip on reality because I just had long talk to the wood pigeon sitting on my bird bath. I think he spoke back to me. :goofy:

Ok I will stop ranting now. I only came on here to rant because the little old lady next door heard me talking to the birds and she already thinks I'm a strange yank anyways.

Could be worse. You could be talking to yourself. If you do, you better hope you dont get an answer back lol. Then you will be going nuts.

Hing in there. Your time will come.

I know what you feel like. I was going nuts waiting for my packet 4 -- I was convinced our P3 had been lost because everyone was getting dates before me. It took just about 4 weeks in the end, which seemed like eternity. I just wanted to go home, and be able to start tying up loose ends in the UK, but I couldn't make any plans until we got the date.

Hang in there -- the last bits are seriously just around the corner. And pay no mind to old biddies -- talk to the birds as much as you want! Personally, I am a big fan of wood pigeons, and I miss hearing their call. No wood pigeons here in CT. :(

I wish I was back in the good old days when I could blame all my moving troubles on silly immigration procedures. Now I have to deal with getting away from my bloody job. humph!

Seriously though, the last bits the worst. I was more impatient for my passport to be delivered than I was for any other part of the process. It's cos it's so near but yet, just out of sight...

OMG. You want to talk about frustration and ranting? Heck with Packet 4... we can't even seem to get the damn Packet 3 checklist mailed back! :(

It arrived at his flat while he was here in the NJ visiting, so it sat for over two weeks. He's been back for almost a week, but has lost his internet connection, and can't find another computer to print out the forms. All the other paperwork is in order, we just can't print those few forms.

If only Packet 3 had arrived a few days earlier, he could have brought it with him to the US and we could have mailed it off from here. Instead, it won't get mailed off until early next week, which is over three weeks after it arrived.

After our stupid RFE, I really can't take another delay. We thought he would be arriving here for good around this time. Now it will be another two months, if we are lucky. And ever time I see someone who filed after us arriving in the US for good, it makes me cry. :crying:

And did I mention his new work rotation? He arrived back home to find that instead of normal working hours, he now has to work 12 hour days for 2 weeks straight, but then he gets a full week off every third week. With the time difference, and his 1-1/2 commute each way, that means that instead of 2-4 hour nightly phone chats, we will only be able to talk on my 2 days off each week. We can't even e-mail now. We are completely cut off most of the time. I just don't know what we are going to do. :(

Oh dear. You do sound like you're having a rough time of it. I can remember when Glyn and I were apart. It was the worst if I couldn't talk to him. The time difference is tough sometimes. Just remember, he will be there soon. Stiff upper lip and all that. {{HUG}}

I always feel badly complaining because at least I am with Glyn. We were separated for quite awhile and did the LDR thing for 3.5 years before we were together. Going through this together is easier than if we were apart still.

Maven, that's the whole thing in a nutshell. We have so much to do, so much to pack...as you said, so many loose ends to tie up. I am trying to find us an apartment to move into...but its going to be temporary because we will be buying a house. Its hard when you can't tell the landlord when you would like to move in. :wacko: Luckily we are renting from a friend here in the UK, but we would still like to give him ample time to find someone to replace us when we leave.

Oh well...post just came...nothing again. Not going to let it ruin my weekend though. Everyone have a FANTASTIC Saturday. And thanks for the words of encouragement. :star:
