I've never had a pedicure. I got a gift certificate for one awhile ago but still haven't used it! I will sometime soon..not sure I am big into other people touching my feet. Maybe I'll feel different after getting it done and having new prettier feet. :P

Omigosh you'll never be the same after you've had one. I didn't have one until a few years ago because I was funny about someone touching my feet and now I just think it's heaven. Besides doing the nail work it's the massaging of the feet and calves, getting rid of all the dead skin on the bottom of the feet and heals, is what makes it so delightful, and oooh last time I had one done with a paraffin wax after all of the soaking, buffing and nail work and maaaaaaaaaan, my feet felt like a baby's bottom. I love the place I get it done. With the paraffin was $45 and lasted 75 mins...it could have lasted even longer...hehehe. Also, the foot soaker is attached to a massage chair.

I would just advise looking at their set up before you hand your feet over. I'd want to make sure they completely clean the foot soakers between clients, disinfect the tools between clients, and if the technician cuts to the point of it hurting, that's no good.

I belong to I CAN LIVE WITHOUT NAIL POLISH..:)

As a matter of fact I dont polish my nails at all.. I just cut it with nail cutter in a regular basis and brush it with toothbrush everytime I take bath.. It makes the nail, white and naturally shiny..

But you know everyone has different style, but for me, I never put anything in my nails.. My mom told me the more you polish your nail (pedicure the more you get ingrown..) It grows more deeper and more painful if you did not not do it in a regular basis.. Nail Polish also turns the nails yellow because of the chemicals in the nail polisher. I guess once in a while is okay but not all the time..

Try not to polish your nail one time, and check the difference.. This will also help to use your time in some other way plus saving a couple of dollars in the future.... Especially when you have the baby..

There is a way to get your feet and hands beautiful by just buying scrubs and by massaging it at night with lotion.

Hope that you will not get offended but its true.

I can live without it but I like doing my nails on my own once in a blue moon. But my husband likes pedicure with spa once a month since his toes bother him so much and whenever I would go with him at the nail salon, he would encourage me to have one too. I'm kind of hard on my fingernails and in less than 5 minutes, I can damage a $35 worth manicure/pedicure that's why I told him not to spend money on it anymore. He also likes women who paints nails that's why he encourages me to do the same. I even got a set of tools to do it myself. But part of the reason why I really don't like nail polish is because I just noticed that once you remove them, the color of your nails look yellowish like they're dying. Maybe because my nails are so sensitive. So now, I only put polish when there's an occasion and then remove the paint on my fingernails right away but keep the color on my toenails. I don't like yellowish, yucky-looking nails... It's gross.

hehe...well I got the gift certificate as a gift and it's not for a really great place. Another reason I have been putting it off is because of seeing something on TV about the grossness of some places that give pedicures and manicures. I wonder if I will really ever go haha. My feet do need it, but I am not too excited about it or I guess I would have gone after I got it for my bday last October. It's been long enough.

Depends if someone's has deep ingrown or none at all. Depends on how you manage your nails about it. As for me, i don't suffer with ingrown as i don't have it , and neither i like to have it.

It's depends on what nail polish one's put in their nails. Some nail polish has solvent so that is really bad and not advisable nail polish. And a "cuticle remover" is not advisable to use for softening nails as this makes the nail yellowish and easily broken, instead just put some small drops of shampoo in water and you can use this as softening the nails and use it in nail cleaning. Safe and won't make your nails yellowish.

And won't make your nails breakable. :)
