I am interested what the medical exam is looking for. Is it some potential disease issue, or general heath. I am overweight unfit and a smoker - Do I need to go on a crash fitness program in time for the examination - Or can I take a more measured approach to extending my life expectancy?

Hi there,

Being an overweight is not an issue. If you are a smoker, just have to make sure you don't have any problems with your lungs.

What basically Medical exam checks for are any diseases that can transmit to others.

Good luck.

I had the same things as you write when I went for my medical. The doctor I was sent to said that I should lose weight but since all my medical things came back clear and healthy I am here in America and still smoking LOL.

Good luck with it all and don't stress about the medical. I know that it is easy for me to say don't stress I remember that I was a wreck before mine but it isn't that big a deal.

Take care.
