VATICAN CITY - The Vatican's chief astronomer says that believing in aliens does not contradict faith in God.

Wasn't born skeptical or even paranoid, just became that way with a series of negative experiences until recently.

Didn't believe in soulmates unit I met my wife, and it's okay to believe in aliens? USCIS called my wife an alien, but perhaps this Jesuit is speaking about aliens from outer space. But being of an induced skeptical nature, why should we beleive in this until we actually see or meet one? But is he saying if you don't and they in reality do exist, it's okay to believe in them?

Would be a lot easier to believe in mercy if either a traffic cop or a tax collector would show mercy, but they don't. And what about angels, the devil, saints, life after death, and even God himself, is that also okay to believe in, when in reality, you had no personal contact? Or maybe you did have contact and don't realize it, like in a dream caused from spending too many hours reading the bible.

But if you have an urge to believe but don't because you have nothing to back up that belief, then you are told you are condemning your soul to hell, that is, if you have an eternal soul, can't prove that either. It's easy to tell a person if they do not behave they way they want you want them to, they are going to suffer eternal damnation. And that damnation will be at a place that can be found on earth, like being tossed into the crater of an active volcano, hell is always down, and heaven is always up. The thoughts of heaven being in a fifth dimension or in some other state are recent as science as progressed with some of these weird theories.

And angels have wings to fly up to heaven? Well heaven can be no higher than 14,000 feet as the air becomes to thin to support powered flapping wings. But they didn't know that back then, and the bible was written strictly based on what man did know back then.

Four of my best friends dropped away from the priesthood, why, because that miracle of the Holy Spirit wasn't there, and can verify that with my first and only church wedding. While priesthood was a strong consideration, I could not deal with the rituals that had to be memorized and repeated constantly, nor did I favor the idea of wearing a dress. But with the Jesuits, was always looking deeper with that strong question of a deep knowledge of faith, and is this reality, or some notion? Feel notion plays a more important role, but then I have become a skeptic.

Ha, was told by priests that I was sent by God as I could repair a broken window, organ, or a boiler, priests are not prepared for such matters, and have to get in front of their congregation and beg for money, the really key job of becoming a priest when dealing with earthly matters.

I did manage to get my church wedding anulled, just wanted anything to do with that marriage to be history and ended, just have to provide ample proof that the contract never was entered into with proper intent, that was easy. Saw the same shortfalls in my wife's first marriage, and even gross errors in her certificate, names were mispelled, and even the witnesses written down were not correct. Plus the circumstances that I won't get into. But for a universal church with a common law, her church in her country was and is totally corrupt and the process would cost thousands and thousands of dollars. I will let this rest upon their souls, and that is, if we have souls.

Faith is accepting a precept or a concept without proof and dictated by men that cannot fix an organ and like to wear dresses. Just find that hard to believe. And playing with little boys is just a bit too much and not doing anything about it with concern about scandal. Oh, that scandal, can't have that. And then to have a Roman emperor tell a bunch of guys to get something organized, like right now. That even makes it more difficult to believe in.

But I guess it's okay to believe in aliens from outer space without fears of going to hell. Well, gee, thanks.

I'm wondering now why he would say this. The Vatican didn't accept the world as being round until it was unmistakingly proven. They didn't accept that the Earth wasn't the center of the Universe until that was unmistakingly proven. Now its okay to accept Aliens? Hmm. What have they seen?

Another notion if there are other people in this universe, did anyone of them commit a sin? And if they did, are all of their offspring stuck with that sin? And if so, does Jesus Christ have to go from planet to planet, preach than hang on a cross for those sins to please his Father or some other form of excruciating punishment?

Or was the fact that he came here and did all that good for the entire universe? But what about John the Baptist? How many times does he have to have his head chopped off?

Food for thought. Ha, using water to cleanse sins, sure doesn't work very well for cleaning car grease off your hands.

Funes said that ruling out the existence of aliens would be like "putting limits" on God's creative freedom.

Sounds consistent to me.

Not surprising, really. Consistency isn't difficult to maintain if the premise is omnipotence.

It truly must be with the help of divine intervention that after entering into this well-defined bureaucratic process, we were blessed with the expected outcome within the predefined timeline. Praise deities!
