CR-1 vs IR-1

Hi Guys,

I have paid both IV and AOS bill online. I noticed both cover sheets have CR-1 on it. I am expecting to have our interview by July this year (If things go OK). but by that time our marriage will be more than two years old. (We got married June 2006) Is this going to be a problem during interview time? Last thing we want to hear during interview is : "We can not approve CR-1 for you.Go and apply for IR-1"

Thanks everyone.

A family based immigrant visa is a family based immigrant visa... Same petition, same application, same medical, same affidavit of support, same, same, same.... difference is only "time in marriage". The consulate does not care if it is CR or IR.... but you should not be shy to inquire in order to be certain that they issue the right one as well.....

YMMV

Just make sure to remind the POE officer that you have been married for more than two years just in case he/she misses it.

It wont be a problem. This is actually good for you so make sure you remind them. You will get a IR1 visa instead of CR1.
