Hi, Loto, I downloaded your fastest NVC process version 1.5, you mentioned about the AOS package, I am still confused about what documents should we have for the AOS package? Thank you so much, loto...

ling

If you check out this link, it's the PDF of the I-864, including instructions ... The specifications as to which forms of support are accepted are listed there :)

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864.pdf

Thank you for the detailed answer Rajee!!!(F) - ling

Hi Loto,

this is bani, i didn't understand why we have to pay 365Rs for couier fees and for what reason.. since all our orginial documents are with NVC when submitted DS-230. Can you explain the process more into details please about VFS visit??

Thank You

HI there - to my knowledge, the courier fees are for the passport, which the consulate will keep after the interview and put the visa on, and then mail back to the beneficiary -- thus the courier fees :)

Hello,

Thanks Rajee 4 the answer.. I didn't knew that.. there are so many hidden rules that i am finding it now..

Rajee, all your answers are right  You're a big helper on this forum :star:

Rs. 365 is to courier the passport after the visa interview. Consulate holds it after the interview to affix visa and they will mail to applicant's address. Since, we submit all originals to NVC, VFS is a cake walk now. They want only Rs.365. Previously, they used to collect all the originals and forward to the consulate. Now, this burden shifts from beneficiary to the applicant :star:

Bani, there is no hard and fast rule to provide the documentation to the passport office to get PCC. However, an I-130 approval notice will do it. Also, you can write a request letter to the PP office as a petitioner, then he can submit it.

PCC is needed at NVC and at subsequent visa interview time. He's now border line of 6 months since his PP was issued in Jan 2008. So, it is better to get PCC from district police station too

Hi lotto,

I was wondering if you can guide me a bit.

I want to be prepared for the NVC stage, so wondering how shall I go about for PCC from police and passport offices? Do I have to show a document or can I print out a sheet where it says what exactly is needed from police and passport office?

Also, do I need 2 original copies of both these documents, one for NVC and another one for Interview? Or just one copy is enough, since the original will be going to NVC.

Sorry if this question has already been asked.

Hmm - I'm in a weird situation... I had emailed a supervisor at NVC as advised by a rep on the phone (some days ago) and requested that they consider an expedite - all I wanted to really make sure of was that I'd get a July date.

Today I called NVC and we're not scheduled for an interview yet, and the rep told me that they've emailed the New Delhi consulate asking for an expedite ... Weird thing is, if they accept the expedite in Delhi, the NVC will send our papers to the embassy without first scheduling a date and then scheduling a date would be the unilateral decision of the US Embassy in Delhi ... I wouldn't be able to call in and check on the date or anything ...

My concern is, if the expedite happens, it could actually HURT if they aren't getting a solid date FIRST ... Sending papers over to India could take a while and in the meantime the interview slots could be filled up in the meantime!!!

How does this expedite process work? Do the embassies hold some dates aside for these requests so that we don't actually get HURT by the expedite process?

Ideally now I want NVC to get a date and THEN get the email from Delhi saying that they accept the expedite request - that way I'll have a date and then can ask that they move it up to a sooner date since they are now willing to expedite...

How retarded is it that my simple request to help us out a little bit could actually backfire? You guys think my date could be LATER than it would have been without an expedite (if its approved in the first place)????

Soooo confused ... :help:

Yes, you need to apply for PCC in Police station and Passport office. You may need I-130 approval notice for that.

But to me, I had no issues to get PCC from passport office without any document. I had to produce a request and I-130 approval notice to get PCC from police station. What I did is I scanned those (request and approval notice) and emailed to my wife. She printed out on the other end and submitted to the police station. That's all!

It would be nice idea if you get 2 originals from each place.

:help:

I have no clue. Probably who has done in the past could help you out, Rajee :star:

How long does it take for them to invoice the AOS? They received my petition on Friday June 06. I check every day, but still says Not invoiced.

Also, do you have to wait until you pay the AOS to send the e-mail for Choice of Agent or can I send it now?

Thanks
