Hello everyone,

I see this date is finally here for me. I fully realize that this is just an estimate but i do have some questions.

1. Is there any chance of getting any real information? I remember calling every week months ago asking where is my receipt and getting nothing.

2. Will they even recognize that i am overdue? the uscis website says Aug 19. will they even consider my call or just blow me off?

3. if anyone thinks i should call, what do you suggest i say or ask? is there anything i can do to get them to actually look at my case?

For some reason i feel that calling will be another waste of my lunch hour, so please let me know what you think.

Thanks everyone!

Does it hurt to call? Only if you're tying up the line that real RFEs need. Does it help? Almost certainly not.

Hi, Mike

My timeline is quite similar to yours and will also be fwd'd to GZ China at the end. VJ timeline says I should here from USCIS TODAY, but of course, I haven't heard. No udates, no touches, no nothing! Well, couple of weeks I ago, I called RFE because I know I will need to submit more documents once they decided that they want to look at my file, but the person in CSC just told me that no one were even looking at my file and probably will have to wait for another 2months. I then had immediate touches on my CR1 that day and the follow, but i think that's due to they took it out and put it right back. I am sitting here thinking the same as you. If I call again, it will probably just waste another lunch time of mine.

that is not necessarily true. I called on Tuesday about my case and there has yet to be a touch. They could have been doing something with your case, but I don't think it shows up as a touch just because you called. IMO

It will only show up as a touch if they actually looked at your case. So a call may or may not result in a touch.

I think I should clarify my conversation with the CSC person on the phone. I blah blah about sending more documents in and he said no, not until we ask you to. then, i ask, when will you ask then? He said when we think we should ask. I then said, no one touches my file since january and i am a Nov filer and there is no updates on why my file is not yet worked on, then he reply saying mine will be updated at the end of that work day, but will not be worked on until 2 more months. I said then i wait for 2 more months to get RFE then send it in and then wait some more for your decsision? he said: kind of, but just need to remember that you have to wait. then i said, i know, this is what i am doing now already on the phone, waiting for an acutal answer from you.

At the end of that day, i got a touch and another one the day after, but nothing any more after that. i called 2 weeks ago.

Can you update your service center?

And MissingYou, your timeline says you are a K-3 / California filer, not CR-1/IR-1 at Nebraska.

Keeping these things straight is very helpful.

The sad truth is that the USCIS phone center that you call will only talk to you, nothing else. They wont do any service request unless your application was filed 30 days before their posted processing dates( which is July 30th 2007 & Aug 19th 2007) . The phone reps also have no idea what is going on at the service centers. Most of them dont know the process either. Their standard answer is to tell you to wait 9-10 months because that is their estimated time to complete I 130s. Also they can do nothing to help you besides the service request. If you do use the RFE line to call and to talk to them and start asking them questions about your case they will tell you to call the 1-800 number. They are well aware that they messed things up big time so the only information you will get from them is wait. Its really sad but tue.

Hi,

I am always confused here as who i shoudl id myself. Can you tell me who I should say here? I am a Nov 2007 CR1 filer, and upon getting my NOA1 in Jan 2008, i then filed K3 in Feb. Who am I? CR person or K3? I am waiting on NOA2 on both, but nothing heard yet.

And sorry for being so dumb... when I once posted in the K3 forum under the "Feb tracker post", someone in there said I am not part of their group??! they said they all filed CR1 + K3 in Feb. So, where should i go to find someone who have similar timeline here? I am lost in this VJ world here. If anyone is reading this and have similar timeline, please come find me to take me to your group. Thanks.

We have the same timeline and I am also at the CSC. I have tried calling CSC using the RFE trick and I get the canned response: it is in process. I contacted my senator last week when I hit the 6 month mark and after the senator's office made an inquiry on my case, I was told I would have to wait until 6 months from my NOA-1 date which is in August 2008 before anything could be done. Pretty frustrating...

Once you file the I-129F, you are a K-3 filer.
