Hello,

I have one more quick question on the I-765. On the Part 4 on the I-765 it states the fee is $180.00. When I click on the link provided by Visajourney it states $180.00 plus $70.00 for biometrics. I'm not sure if I need to pay this $70.00. They did take my wife's fingerprints at the embassy in Cameroon (but that's it). If I do need to pay this, do I make the check out to the same people as the $180.00 check. Thanks.

Chris

no EAD is only 180 that includes biometrics, the 70 of biometrics is only for AOS

I had the same question in another thread. I called USCIS, and was told that the biometrics fee is included in the $180.

I wish they wouldn't contradict themselves so much! :)

Wait...I'm confused (long day here)...if the $180 includes biometrics, we have to pay ANOTHER $70 for biometrics for the AOS? Two sets of biometrics? Or have I totally lost my sanity here?

EAD is only one finger, AOS is all fingers, that's why AOS costs extra for bios

Chris,

EAD is only $180. If you apply for AOS then include the $ 70 for fingerprinting....however, if your wife was fingerprinted at the embassy within the last (less than a year,I guess, I am not sure here) and you have proof for that, call the uscis before you file the AOS. Ask your wife if it was complete fingerpriniting not one finger only. I know some embassies do biometrics only not fingerprinting. Since you will file the AOS at a later date, try to find out sooner before time. ie my wife was in a similar situation and we called the embassy to confirm if the biometrics she had done with them was fingerprinting, they said no,so we had to include the $ 70 for it. This helped us lots. Even it came as a surprise that we got two mails on same day,AOS NOA 1 and fingerprinting NOA which is scheduled for in the next two weeks time.
