i was married in nov 2006 and submitted to the I-485 and I-130 jan 2007 and i was approved in my interview july 2007 but waiting for fbi name check....and when i heard about the new memo of the fbii called the uscis in march and they said they will answer me by mail .and i got the mail in april and was written on it "waiting second agency background check"

so i did an info pass and i went today and i asked the officer look what he told me..."background check "......i answered "there is new memo and it should apply for me i m waiting more than 180 days and i show him print from the memo"............he told me"your name was cleared by the fbi but we are waiting for third agency background check!!!!" .he didn t tell what is third background check ......i asked him "is it having time frame?"he told me "NO"

so what i suppose to do? i involved my congressman form 5 month ago and it s going no where. do any body what is the third agency back ground check?

I've never heard of such a thing, you've tried everything there is to try. Unless you want to sue the USCIS hehe I say just wait, and hopefully you'll be hearing from them sooner than later. I know, it's hard but b strong brother.

Sasa--

I'd update your congressman's rep. I had spoken to mine in November but called again last month after we hadn't heard anything different since they issued the memo. We were told "decision within 90 days."

Maybe that rep. would know what the "third" check is. I know the FBI check looks at lots of agencies. Maybe they were just being specific this time around.

argg. how irritating.

Summer 2001--we met in Manzanillo, Mexico

10/02--129F submitted (We had 1 RFE)

7/03--Interview in Ciudad Juarez

2/15/04--Married

4/2/04--AOS submitted

8/23/04--Interview in Chula Vista, CA (approved pending name check)

5 EADs, 3 APs, multiple Senators' inquiries and infopass appts, 2 AOS biometrics,

and one move to Seattle later...

3/3/08--AOS Biometrics renewal in Seattle

6/9/08--10 year green card arrived in the mail. My husband is no longer in immigration limbo and is a realio, trulio permanent resident! It says he's been a resident since 04/17/2008.

1/17/11--Apply for Citizenship
