We need better roads in NW Houston ....

Take the illegals ... slice them thin ... and make the roads smooth ... at this point they're actually helping the economy ....

They already line the roads in NW Houston. Both sides. Have you ever been to Carverdale in NW Houston? The stretch of Gessner between Clay Road and Hempstead Road? Definitely Mojadoville. There were always 50+ illegal aliens out there daily openly selling illegal black market labor when I used to pass through there.

Not to mention the dozens of illegal aliens congregating on West Belfort between Beltway 8 & Southwest Freeway. Ditto for the masses of illegal labor sellers that hang out on Westpark between Chimney Rock and Southwest Freeway. I could go on and on and on.

How well do you think this open flaunting of illegality would fly if it were Johns picking up whores on the street corner or crackheads scoring dope? You don't think the city government knows this is going on? What about ICE? How about Bush and Congress?

As I said earlier in this thread...our government from top to bottom along with corporate America is totally corrupt. And it won't change until we take back our country from the crooks that are running it into the ground.

Where is a real leader with testicles like Eisenhower when he is sorely needed today? None of the 3 running today are worthy enough to shine his shoes much less run our country.

Cell phone: ICE

Be a hero.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Your so witty and a real comedian.

Read the post. Why waste cell minutes telling ICE something they already know? They are just puppets on a string. Follow the string to the crooks.

Thanks.

So don't be a hero.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Ha! Ha! Ha! <---- no need for several exclamation marks. Your<--- wrong, this is a possessive adjective, you need a pronoun and a verb, "You are" is the correct form. so witty and a real comedian.

Your introduction has monumental errors, the body is weak since there are no solid reasons that show how ICE already knows about this issue. There is no conclusion but two sentences that do not make any sense because they miss important information. Who are the crooks? How can we reach them? by the string?

Since there are no facts backing up your comments but your own personal opinion,

I'll give you a C+ :)

Have a good day

You said it.. This is why I no longer support the republicans. Yes I am conservative and right wing but I don't feel at all that #### like Cheney care about his party's views or his country. If they did they would have nipped issues like this in the butt rather than pander to their buddies. Rather than spend $3 trillion on a useless war. Obama and Clinton are the same. You have two elitist rich people who say they support and stand up for the blue collar worker, justice etc. BS!! The rich are exploiting the nation while the poor are getting #### in the ###.. Illegal immigrants are getting a free ride while poor Americans are victims of crime or left to rot and die.

The problems and corruption can be fixed. For a start, lobbyist and special interest groups need to be prohibited from interacting with government officials behind closed doors. That is what should be classified as an act of treason. That is ###### over Americans for a profit.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Tell me where in that quote your are mentioning, it says: GIVE ME YOUR TIRED, YOUR POOR etc etc but first you should be a legal resident of the US. The current immigration policy is broken, that's why people are climbing the fences because they are hungry ok? Mexico and other countries are to blame on that matter I know. The main issue here is that according to you, there are no more jobs right? well, if people are coming, if people are staying, I really do not think is because they are living off welfare right? besides what kind of living can welfare give you? It's naive to say that there are no more jobs available, call the farmers and ask them if they need help, heck you can go ahead and apply for those jobs. I'm pretty sure they will not turn you down, they will be hiring legal workers! Can you wonder why people don't want to work in those kinds of jobs? Bottom line, because they SUCK

You accuse Peejay of pulling facts out of his ### but what is your opinion based on. There was a city in the US which recently enforced the immigration laws and kicked all of the illegal immigrants out. Surprise surprise there was a line outside of Americans willing to fill the jobs the following day. Funny that hey..

I know for a fact myself I tried to take up some part time work over the weekend doing landscaping. Unlucky there. Basically the positions are filled with illegal immigrants working for x dollars a day..

Who said anything about requiring someone to be a legal resident before immigration? What do you mean? That doesn't make sense. The Statue stands in the same harbor as Ellis Island where all those who saw it upon immigrating were legally processed and either accepted or rejected. The poet wrote it with legal immigration in mind and the poem refers to raising the lamp to the golden door. That door is the door to America, or the process of immigration.

I never said I wanted the jobs. I would like them to be available to the poor and hungry around the world. I actually know a lot of people who would want those jobs, and apparently, a lot of illegals want them as well. Don't you think there are poor and hungry around the world who would like them as well? But perhaps they don't have the option of jumping fences or perhaps they aren't wealthy or connected enough to qualify for a student visa or some other sort of visa which they can overstay.

Are you saying that illegals don't want the jobs? Then what is your point?

Your first sentence totally contradicts what you say a few pages back but I seriously don't have time to go look it up.

But anyway, I'm with you on what you said about the poor and hungry. I truly believe that if Europe was next door to the US like Mexico is, there would be all kinds of undocumented immigrants looking for a better way of life. It's human nature and no politician or law enforcement can possibly put a stop to it. Hunger and poverty are much more powerful and will make anybody go to extremes to put food on the table. Am I proud of the fact that we had to come to the US and were all illegal at some point? Of course I am. I'm glad my parents made that decision for us because we were poor and hungry back in Colombia.

Not entirely true. I saw a news bit last night where the US is trying to make visa deals with Mexico to bring back workers to work in the fields because guess what? Legal residents and US citizens don't want to do those kinds of jobs. They're having to raise their prices because field workers are hard to come by these days.

So it may be true for your landscaping gig but not for all jobs.

If only it was that easy. Government would not prohibit something that gives those interacting with lobbyist groups money and/or power when it is government officials on the receiving end.

But Diana... don't you appreciate the really humanitarian ideas some posters have said on this thread? Like "slice them thin and use them to pave the streets"? Nobody gives a hoot about undocumented folks. You should know better, you sexy wetback you :bonk:

How much an hour do you want to be paid for landscaping? It isn't rocket science and this type of work kids would do for not much money too.

Have a good day

You are the smart guy here. Since you know it all you can explain why thousands of illegal aliens openly line up on street corners nationwide to sell illegal black market labor without ICE knowing nothing about it. The sh*t that goes on here in Houston has certainly made it into all the media outlets. It isn't a secret. How can ICE not know?

Ditto for the crooked politicians. Does Antonio Villaraigosa ring a bell? Just another one of many illegal alien cheerleaders that openly advocate circumventing immigration and labor laws.

But wait...you're the smart guy...you should already know this stuff. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995
