Good and bad.

Hating the weather here, missing John like crazy. Had some chocolate for lunch so a little happier. And feeling well cause I went swimming before work.

How about you?

Quite good, one of my sisters got engaged last month and is getting married October 4. But I won't be able to attend, timing will be about when stuff will start for us HOPEFULLY.

Alex, am talking to my Floridian right now. Looks like it's not too too bad, not a full grown hurricane. Just lots of rain and major winds. Here's an update for Marco Island:

7:12 a.m. update

The National Hurricane Center says the center of Tropical Storm Fay has made landfall just east of Marco Island.

Winds continue at 30 mph with gusts upward to 40 mph.

Police and fire-rescue personnel are reporting significant road flooding, according to city spokeswoman Lisa Douglass.

The low lying areas are flooded on the south end of Marco Island near Swallow Avenue. Many roads are impassable.

Storm debris is on many roads and there are power outages.

From Lely to Marco on Collier Boulevard, the only traffic signal in operation was at U.S. 41 and Collier. The intersection of Barfield and Collier, which is the first light when entering the island from S.R. 951 was put in operation by emergency personnel shortly after 6 a.m.

The Judge S.S. Jolley Bridge remained open this morning, though there was standing water near the bridge's south base.

There are scattered palm fronds along portions of Barfield Drive. Also water was over the roadway on certain parts of Barfield Drive.

Traffic lights are out at North Barfield at Collier Boulevard and South Barfield at San Marco Road.

The city is working on providing updated information as the public safety and public works departments gather information.

Residents are urged to say inside.

“Do not attempt to assess the conditions yourself,” Douglass said. “If you have an emergency dial 9-1-1.

hey all,

My thoughts are with you all with loved ones in Florida, although it's not looking as severe as it could have been, I'm sure things will be alright Alex :)

Dairy: I'm sorry you haven't moved on Igor's, but I was completely serious when I said before that CSC is going to catch up to VSC soon...they have slowed down so much :(

Gordon: I'm glad to have read that Lara is doing a bit better. I was in a car accident two years ago, and although I wasn't too bad with outer physical injury, I had a major concussion, which was my 6th head injury (gotta love High School Rugby), which cost me a decent chunk of my short-term memory :S...the process of recovery isn't very fun, but I'm so happy to hear she is doing better all the time.

It's rained 29 of the last 32 days here...not very nice at all. We didn't seem to have much of a summer, so I'm hoping we have a nice autumn (it's my favorite). We have gorgeous falls, so I'm excited...and I really hope that I can be down in the states before I have to start looking at foot upon foot of snow :P Last winter we had 10+ ft of snow on the ground for 6 months *gag*...Can you tell I'm not a winter person?? LOL

Same here, can't wait to be away from all that snow :). I do want to visit Canada one day, though. Especially after seen that movie about your country at Disney's Epcot Center. Will try and do it during fall since you mentioned how pretty it is. My sis just came back from Niagra Falls (she is spending summer in PA) and the pics are gorgeous! Can't wait to see it for myself ;).

Are u starting to prepare for your next trip to NC yet? Will be nice to get away from all that crappy weather you seem to be getting!

Hey girl, did u hear from John yet? How did he make it through the storm?

There was what looks like June approval on the top of Igor's list today, but after some digging I found out they filed on the week of Feb. 11. And here I was getting a bit worried that they skipped May altogether :).
