Hey Guys,

I am flying back in May to fly back with my sweetheart, he just got his visa... My question is this, would it be okay if I told the CO that i am there to fly back with Chris to the states, and that he just got his visa?? Or should I just tell them I am visiting him?? I don't want to get turned away because they think that I am there to smuggle him out of the UK illegally :S ... any thoughts on what I should tell the CO?? I was just thinking of telling them that I'm there to visit friends... what would you guys say? I was thinking of bringing copies of our NOA's and such and a letter from my employer that I am still employed there and such and my most recent paycheck stub and my lease agreement., showing that I will be coming back... Just fretting over this.. though I am probably fretting over nothing... hehe Any suggestions would be great!!

Kind Regards,

Shawna

I find that telling the truth works best.

I visited my fiance in the UK right after his visa was approved but before he was coming to the US. I simply explained that I was there for a week's visit and that he'd be following me to the US on his K1 visa 5 days after my visit was over. There was no issue whatsoever.

Just tell the truth, that you are going over to accompany your fiance back to the US as he is immigrating. It would still be a good idea to have proof of your connections, but I don't think they will be concerned about your smuggling him out of the UK:-).

A quick story that seems apropos here - when my fiance drove to the Canadian border to 'move' me back to the US on my K-1 visa, the border guard asked him the purpose of his visit. He explained that he was going to pick up his fiancee and then move her to the US where we would be getting married. The border guard waved him through, saying' Drive on, Brother! Drive on! Far be it from me to stand in the way of another man's misery!' (said with a big smile).

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”
