I just had to share this story with everyone! We all know that they tell you at the embassy when you are approved...to not make travel arrangements until visa in hand..right? Well...being the organized, well-thought out, detail-oriented, somewhat worrisome, control freak I am...could not imagine trying to wait till the last minute to book his flight! Was afraid the flight would be full, the ticket would be astronomical, or something would go wrong and delay his homecoming. He always said he wished he could just drag his suitcase to the embassy and leave for the airport the second he got the visa!...LOL

Anyway...For some reason last Friday, I got a sudden burst of the "holy spirit" and got online to check all the travel sites for tickets. I even called Delta to get the costs booking direct from them. It turned out Travelocity had the lowest ticket for the Delta flight straight to Atlanta, with a connecting flight to San Francsico. It was $1616, and it said it was the last seat at that price! I called them and found out what would happen if I booked it, then had to change it...and basically they would apply what I paid, then charge me for the difference, plus $200 (which is pretty standard) I stayed on the phone for a long time explaining my situation to the rep and asking her opinion if I should take a chance booking it..she was very nice and told me all the scenerios. I actually prayed about it right there on the phone...and decided to take the chance. I got the last seat!

So all week I was a nervous wreck! My hubby was happy, but a little worried I had got the ticket, until I told him I had prayed about it..and that it was the last ticket. He just knew it was a sign, and he was soooooo confident and relaxed the whole week, while I was tripping..lol. Then today when he called to tell me he got the visa..I just lost it! I had prayed and cried all night, and barely slept. Immediately after getting off the phone with him..I looked up the price of the ticket, and it was $2399 thru Sunday...then $2499 next Monday-Wednesday...and on Thursday it shot up to $3400! I couldnt believe we had saved $800+!

I know our prayers and faith in God made it all possible...We prayed every night together for almost a year, and will continue to thank him for his amazing grace and love!

Never lose hope...God does answer prayers, even in your darkest hours! Just be open to hear his calling, and let it consume you. AMEN!

God Bless (L)

Thank you for sharing this wonderful testimony. Without faith we cannot please God, no matter how holy or righteous we may be. It is always good to see the children of the most high display astonishing faith and trust in him, no matter how bleak or desperate the situation may present itself. Our God is an awesome God, and I give Him all the praise, thanksgiving, adoration and exaltation, for the wonderful things He has done in your life. Blessed be His holy name. Congratulations.

I forgot to add, that if anyone decides to book a flight thru Travelocity from a country listed on "fraud alert" You will need to speak to a supervisor when booking with a creditcard and make sure they do the proper bank verification and security checks. We almost had a problem with them cancelling the ticket cuz the agent didnt follow proper protocol. Will explain more later, when I know he has made the flight for sure. Nothing in Naija is ever easy!!!!!!!!!

Great story. I think he comes tonight Zaina. It isn't my SO, but I am excited to read her good news. There is a flight path right over my house so around eleven something tonight if I hear a plane I'll think of them. LOL :jest:
