Ok..I need some opinions..My daughter in Toronto is being admitted to the hospital for complications due to her pregnancy(preaclampsia) Am I wasting my time by trying to get an expeditied AP? I don't know if they'll deem this urgent enough..It's a serious condition..but I don't know if they'll agree..whay do you guys think?

03/25/08 RFE recieved for NOA for I129F(USCIS lost it! DOH!)

03/26/08 EAD touched(for daughter and myself)

03/28/08 EAD touch again!

04/03/08 RFE received case processing resumes

04/29/08 request AP expedited

05/01/08 AP sent out

Hi first sorry to hear about your daughter hope she and the baby will be ok.

ok from your timeline I guess you should get the AP aproved any day now , but since you have an emergency , I would try to get any document stating your daughters situation ( maybe someone can fax you the hospital admition or a doctors note ) cose I belive they would concider that an emergency

you would have to make an info pass apointment ,and tell them your situation provide evidence of your emergency , wish you good luck

Thank you for your quick response Lona..I agree..I am so close to getting it..yet..one never knows when it will come through..Now..if I actually was lucky enough for them to give me an emergency AP....does that negate the one I'm waiting for?An emergency AP is for 90 days?Is that correct? because with her condition..this could be a very touchy few months(shes not due until mid august.

good to know..thank you..I knew a **normal** AP was for a year..I thought I had read somewhere that an emergency AP had a 90 day expiry.. thanks for the good news!
