Time of your Life by Greenday

Which is actually titled "Good Riddance".......

"Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)"

Another turning point, a fork stuck in the road

Time grabs you by the wrist, directs you where to go

So make the best of this test, and don't ask why

It's not a question, but a lesson learned in time

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.

I hope you had the time of your life.

So take the photographs, and still frames in your mind

Hang it on a shelf in good health and good time

Tattoos of memories and dead skin on trial

For what it's worth it was worth all the while

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.

I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.

I hope you had the time of your life.

It's something unpredictable, but in the end it's right.

I hope you had the time of your life.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

They played a few contemporary songs at my friends funeral (34 y/o, drugs). By far the saddest funeral I've ever been to. The one that got me, and that I would like played, was

Bob Marley: Redemption Song

Old pirates, yes, they rob i;

Sold I to the merchant ships,

Minutes after they took i

From the bottomless pit.

But my hand was made strong

By the and of the almighty.

We forward in this generation

Triumphantly.

Wont you help to sing

These songs of freedom? -

cause all I ever have:

Redemption songs;

Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;

None but ourselves can free our minds.

Have no fear for atomic energy,

cause none of them can stop the time.

How long shall they kill our prophets,

While we stand aside and look? ooh!

Some say its just a part of it:

we've got to fulfil de book.

Won't you help to sing

These songs of freedom? -

cause all I ever have:

Redemption songs;

Redemption songs;

Redemption songs.

Emancipate yourselves from mental slavery;

None but ourselves can free our mind.

Wo! have no fear for atomic energy,

cause none of them-a can-a stop-a the time.

How long shall they kill our prophets,

While we stand aside and look?

Yes, some say its just a part of it:

Weve got to fulfil de book.

Wont you help to sing

Dese songs of freedom? -

cause all I ever had:

Redemption songs -

All I ever had:

Redemption songs:

These songs of freedom,

Songs of freedom.

or Soul Asylum: Without A Trace (The lyrics would drive my younger Sister nuts)! I'd love to find an acoustic version of this.

I fell in love with a hooker

She laughed in my face

So seriously I took her

I was a disgrace

I was out of line; I was out of place

Out of time to save face

See the open mouth of my suitcase

Sayin leave this place

Leave without a trace

Leave without a trace

Leave without a trace

I tried to get a good job

With honest pay

I might as well join the mob

The benefits are okay

Standing in the sun with a popsicle

Everything is possible

With a lot of luck and a pretty face

And some time to waste

Leave without a trace

Leave without a trace

Leave without a trace

I tried to dance at a funeral

New Orleans style

I joined the grave dancers union

I had to file

Trying to do the right thing, play it straight

The right thing changes from state to state

Don't forget to take your mace

If you're out walking late

I liked to see your face

You left without a trace

You leave without a trace

OR, my all time favorite band:

U2: Walk On

And love is not the easy thing

The only baggage that you can bring...

And love is not the easy thing...

The only baggage you can bring

Is all that you can't leave behind

And if the darkness is to keep us apart

And if the daylight feels like it's a long way off

And if your glass heart should crack

And for a second you turn back

Oh no, be strong

Walk on, walk on

What you got they can't steal it

No they can't even feel it

Walk on, walk on...

Stay safe tonight

You're packing a suitcase for a place none of us has been

A place that has to be believed to be seen

You could have flown away

A singing bird in an open cage

Who will only fly, only fly for freedom

Walk on, walk on

What you've got they can't deny it

Can't sell it, or buy it

Walk on, walk on

Stay safe tonight

And I know it aches

And your heart it breaks

And you can only take so much

Walk on, walk on

Home... hard to know what it is if you've never had one

Home... I can't say where it is but I know I'm going home

That's where the hurt is

I know it aches

How your heart it breaks

And you can only take so much

Walk on, walk on

Leave it behind

You got to leave it behind

All that you fashion

All that you make

All that you build

All that you break

All that you measure

All that you feel

All this you can leave behind

All that you reason

All that you sense

All that you speak

All you dress-up

All that you scheme...

"Another One Bites the Dust".

Just kidding......I already pre-planned my music. Even though I'm not going to be there in body or soul. And, truthfully, they can sing whatever they like to that urn of ashes. If they really remember me, they'll sing Counting Crows songs and Barry Manilow show tunes!!!!

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

I was talking with my coworker about wills, estates and funeral planning. The topic of music at the funeral came up.

What would be your song?

Mine: spirit in the sky.

Mostly because I ain't a JC believer, and my friends and family would get a kick out of the irony of it playing at my funeral. Plus I'd really hope that they'd sing along.

I'd have to go with "My way" or something of a similar message

Saludos,

Caro
