Hey Guys!

i finally got my green card but with wrong middle name. Its one of the PI's thing to use the mother's maiden name, i for one didnt have a second name, so i use my moms maiden name as my middle name. On my EAD card it was all correct, it goes Marilou Perez (my dad's name) Elam ( my hubby's name). Then i got my green card just a few mins ago. it says Marilou M. Elam..then on the very bottom of the card, it Says <<Elam>>Marilou>>Maganda>>Perez>> the only wrong thing is my middle initial. which is M when its supposed to be P>>Perez. . i called USCIS right after i noticed the mistake, then the USCIS agent says seems like its all right execpt for the M. and that he adviced me to follow what name written on my passport. WHich is my maiden name>> Marilou Maganda Perez>>> what do you think guys??:help: the USCIS agent said when i send it in, it could take 6 months before i get another card. :crying::crying::crying: i would really appreciate your input. thanks!

when i was filling out my paperworks, i still retained my mom's maiden name it might create more problems if i use my last name as my middle name. my husband and i are stressed out enough on putting the aos package together. i suppose i'll just deal with my name correction upon citizenship.

i know this doesn't help at all.. but i hope you find your answers

Green card and passport names matching is a good thing. We filed an I-190 to correct a USCIS error no fault of our own and received the corrected card in about a month. Your EAD card is no longer valid now that you have permanent residency but it's a nice picture ID.

All I-90 forms are filed the same. We were told it might take as long as six months as well. It took one month. We filed the I-90 in February and received the new card in March this year.

You would want to first confirm the error was not your fault. Otherwise you pay the fee. Since the name on the card matches the one on the passport, I wouldn't assume it was a USCIS error or even an "error".

I'm kinda having the same problem right now.

My wife's name is Thanh Nga Thi Doan. First name is Thanh Nga, middle name is Thi and Last name is Doan. It's typical to have 2 first names in my country. On the top of her green card it says Doan Thanh N and at the bottom it says Doan>>Thanh>>Nga>>Thi...it's all there..but I found out they are using Nga and Thi as her middle name. Do you guys think this will cause any problems later on? Did you ever get yours corrected? I'm thinking to just leave it until she gets her citizenship to correct this. Thanks for any input.
