Potiential Errors on Original Approved Submission of G-325A

Hello all,

First off this is an awesome forum and I only regret not finding it sooner. Lots of good info here and I hope that any contributions I can make will help others in their efforts.

We are in the final stages of the K-1 Visa and her interview is scheduled on April 7 at the CO in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. My I-129F was submitted mid October 2007 and was approved mid January. I will be attending the interview with her of course, and we are getting a lot of great advice from this site. Thanks to all.

One question/ concern is this: when we filled out the G-325A biographic information for the I-129F, we did it by her memory rather than going off of any official records. Now, as we are filling out the DS-230 Part 1 in preparation for the interview, we have found more documentation and discovered that we had a few things wrong on the G-325A; specifically;

Wrong birthdate of her deceased mother.

A couple of wrong dates on her work/ residence information.

If anyone has made this mistake, please let me know how you resolved it. I was thinking of adding an addendum onto DS-230 with an explanation for the incorrect information on the G-325A along with her a copy of her mother's birth certificate. Will this be satisfactory to the CO? How much of a danger is there for denial of the visa because of this mitake?

I've seen people get by with these types of typos all the time, it doesn't seem to be much of a problem. Usually it's just laughed off, especially if it's minor like these seem to be. Does anyone expect to know the dates of their last five jobs anyway? ridiculous.

I wouldn't draw attention to the differences, but if they come up, she can reply with "oh, he must have just filled that out from erroneous memory" or something.

You can do a corrected copy and take it with you to the interview - explain the errors to the interviewer and replace the old form with the correct form. Many people have done this before you and I have read it on the VJ forums. This is not a big deal - yes people make mistakes including someone putting the current year as the date of birth.
