A little bit. I had done some research because I always do when I'm introduced to something new, in this case his culture. But I don't think I could have grasped the cultural attitudes that are what cause the tensions in our marriage until I had been married to him for a while.

Fortunately, I had a friend here was Canadian married to my husband's countrymate. We were able to laugh together at the things that make them SOOOOOOOO frustrating. Now she has gone back to Canada and I am here alone:(

Before getting married, a decent amount. Before meeting, not tons but I learned a lot while chatting to him for a couple years before marriage. I didn't ever have Indian food until 2002, a few months after meeting him online! All those wasted years... :crying::P

Married since 9-18-04(All K1 visa & GC details in timeline.)

A lot - I had visited Nepal twice before we met. Of course there are always some 'surprises' when dealing with a culture which is so different from your own, but I knew about most of the caste issues, role of women, etc. so it was a pleasant surprise to see that Govi's family was so modern. Not too modern to abandon their culture which I love but modern enough to include me in it... (L)

Yes, I have gone there several times - what did you order? I have found some dishes are great (the spicy Tibetan potato curry is my fave) and others not so good. Whenever I've gotten momos there they have been overcooked. My mom had the lamb curry and enjoyed it.

Whatever you do don't go to that 'Yeti' restaurant in Woodside - the food isn't that great and it's horribly overpriced.
