Will Alena have to have her birth certificate translated into English for her interview at the Kiev Embassy? If so, what is the acceptable format and is there somewhere I can download this format?

I asked the same question to the Embassy as well since my birth cert is not in English and they told me they require an official translation of the certificate. Bring both the translated certificate and the original one to the interview. No authentication is needed as the Embassy will authenticate the certificates or any copies.

Each consulate has different requirements so what is acceptable in Singapore, Moscow or Montreal may or may not be acceptable in Kiev. The Kiev embassy has the information packets available for d/l from the website. The instructions and documents requests that they require are clearly expressed there.

If for no other reason get all important documents translated into english as you may need them for other purposes once she arrives here. Ukraine has many translation bureaus and she should have no problem finding one in her city... If not you can try www.ukrainepostalexpress.com

I see it's a bit an old post but I have contact info in Kiev for translations. However, I agree with a previuos post that there way too many agencies where she can go in any city/town in Ukraine and get her birth certificate translated and notorized. Is she in Kharkov?? Don't let her to tranlate and notorize the criminal record document, too. I hope you'll get your interview date soon.
