Recent K-3 and I-130 NOA2

I received both NOA2s for my I-130 and K-3 a couple of days ago and both state the same thing, that they have been approved and sent to the NVC. I am curious if this is something that recent approvals are noticing on their NOA2s. Are both petitions being sent to the NVC and if so why? The two petitions were paired together when I mailed in my K-3 and were approved on the same day. Now both are off to the NVC?

Visa Journey:

Marriage: July 6, 2007

I-130 Sent: August 7, 2007

NOA1: September 24, 2007

I-129F Sent: September 25, 2007

NOA1: October 9, 2007

NOA2: March 7, 2008

Packet 3: March 28, 2008

Interview: June 24, 2008

AP: June 24, 2008

10 months in AP--will this ever end?

miamiwife,

This should be expected - NVC (Dept. of State) will forward your petition to the appropriate foreign Embassy/Consulate. You're on Step 7 of the K3 flowchart. K3 Flowchart

On my NOAs it also says that both I130 and K3 will be forwarded to NVC. I think it would be a waste of time if I130 does indeed goes to NVC as I want to got with K3. Do I have to write to NVC to tell them to send my I130 to national records center, so that I can use it to adjust status?

If they indeed sent both petitions to NVC, you can simply not respond to an correspondence on the I-130 case or respond with a note that you are pursuing the K3 case. I wouldn't do anything about the I-130 until you can confirm the K3/I-129F has left NVC for India.

Frankly, it really doesn't where your I-130 file ends up when it comes to AOS. Their system knows where it is if it is needed. Just the fact it was approved, is the main issue.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

Pushbrk thanks for your answer. I just want to say thank you for coming on this forum so that you can guide us who are still going through this process. I have been coming on VJ for months and all of your replies to other VJers have been very meaningful and useful. AGAIN THANK YOU.
