You would probably say something like

Mr. and Mrs. XXXXX

are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Steph1010 to Mr. Wonderful,

taking place on Thursday (whatever that date is)

at Venue Name.

Or if it's you making the announcement,

Steph1010 and Mr. Wonderful are pleased to announce their marriage, which will take place (same as above).

Don't let the sunshine spoil your rain...just stand up and COMPLAIN!

We made ours on Shutterfly, it turned out really professional looking everyone gave us rave reviews, it was a 2 fold card with our wedding shot on front, and I wrote:

...on a cold and chilly night in December!

Announcing the bond of a lifetime...

xxx smith and xxx jones

became

Mr. and Mrs. XXX Smith

on Dec 30, 2005

in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

Married 12-30-05

Started our visa journey Jan 06.

01-06 - I-130, K3 shortly after

04-06 - switched to Canada Immigration

07-06 - Moved to Canada (PR almost complete)

07-06 - Changed again, back to US imm.

09-06 - Landed as Canadian PR

10-06 - DCF Toronto, Approved in 1.5 hrs!

11-06 - Interview Montreal (success!)

I-130

10-05-06 DCF in Toronto - Approved

10-19-06 Packet 3 received & sent back

10-20-06 Montreal receives P3

11-03-06 Packet 4 received

11-06-06 Medical

11-22-06 Interview / Visa approved

11-26-06 heading home, 6 day drive, my oh my

HOME SWEET HOME

10.24.08 - Mailed I-751 to CSC

Delivered at 9:03 AM on October 25, 2008

10.29.08 NOA1

10.30.08 Check cashed

12.06.08 Biometrics Appt.

12.19.08 Received new Drivers License extended to 2011

03.12.09 Received CONGRATULATIONS letter - Card on the way!!

03.20.09 Received his SHINY new card. WOO HOOOOOOO

YAY!! We can take a break from this madness until Citizenship.

Just my story, I HAD TO or my mum would have never forgiven me for eloping.

It was kinda nice to have it to mail out to the friends who hadn't heard from me in a while but it was a HUGE DEAL for my mom to finally get to tell all her friends that her little girl got hitched. LOL!

(she's been waiting for the day for quite some time)

Married 12-30-05

Started our visa journey Jan 06.

OUR COMPLETE TIMELINE

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!
