Hmm...Yeah, illegals should be deported. But, there are other methods than to do this. I watched the documentary filmed called DETAINED, and it mentions the brutality that ICE used against illegals. It's disturbing. Also violated human rights.

There are other methods to remove people. We have justice, and we as civilized union must uphold human rights. If we don't follow this we are no less worser than Cuba.

What rights? Illegals have no rights in this country. They should not have been here anyway.

Rights are reserved for citizens.

Assuming you believe in human rights as declared by the United Nations, they do have those rights.

maviwaro, I agree that Americans are often pretty ignorant, especially when it comes to acknowledging...other countries existing, and that racial issues are sensitive and so lots of toes are stepped on lots of times, but I think most of the comments that could be considered racial slurs or oversimplifications of race ("Oh you're Mexican") here in this thread have probably been meant to be...ironic, you know? Like not truly ignorant in the obnoxious way, but mimicking a Bubba.

I certainly wasn't actually seriously saying Mexicans are good for tacos and salsa and Canadians should be blown up, anyway :( Totally serious that Florida's useless though...

Think you got a valid point on Mexicans being singled out as the illegal immigrants, but I bet that changes depending on where you are. I mean probably people complaining in Florida complain about the Cubans. I would think statistically there WOULD be a significant number more Mexicans than any other race here illegally though, just because of the big border.

Phew 'dem Irish-Americans are just crazy! Its almost St. Patty's day but it may have been tonight!

So yeah Snowy... don't worry I wasn't implying any misunderstanding or misunderstatement on your part per se... just the actual level of ignorance, intolerance, and idiocy in this nation...

Statistics are a pretty obvious point given the geography. I think the issues at hand, specially given this awesome proximity, is again, the amount of ignorance that makes us impervious to our own neighbors. Heck... we don't even have to leave the country and many of us can't even locate ourselves on a map.

Yes, Elian Gonzalez. What ever happened to that story. I meant, any follow up on the case.

Only that he's like a national hero in Cuba right now.Castro throws parades and celebrates the day,and he remembers nothing at all.

He's with his father as he should have been from day one. Without the hoopla we all remember and satirize on South Park. ;)

All political inferences aside, any illegal aliens should be deported.

All illegal aliens, irrespective of origin, should be deported...

Do your f'ing homework and apply like everyone else here at VJ.

Why do so many people have a problem with this concept?

Should be... but most likely won't be... the problem hence is not in the should but rather in the why/why not.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Human rights are supposedly universal independent of legal rights within a particular nation. I think that was the point of the post. Unfortunately when we allow ourselves to be told what human rights are applicable to some and not others based on legal status is when we ourselves probably deserve the benefits we think we derive from the legal rights that cover us as citizens.

Something is just wrong with Mexico. Canada do Okay. I don't see any news reports that emphasize how they need to increase the barrier at the border. Most news anyway report primarily on the Mexican border.

As far as Florida is concerned, I remembered they used a MP to extract a small child away from his parents along time ago. I think the picture was on time magazine showing the MP with a large machine gun raiding the house of the family to get the kid. I'm surprised nobody brought this topic up yet.

Au contraire mon frere.Just recently on the NBC nightly news I saw about how some illegal immigrants who would have come to the USA,are going to Canada instead because the benefits are better.

Maybe instead of a fence, we should build a sanctuary corridor from Mexico to Canada?

That seems like a personal attack on illegal immigrants, which is in violation of TOS.

Why don't you ban yourself for a day, William33?

Well this would indeed be an option instead of wasting so much tax money on punitive measures that would inevitably spawn a new type of criminal industry in subverting the law... Oh Canada!

no, they didn't. military police don't have a thing to do with immigration - unless, of course, one is stupid enough to jump the fence of a military base..........

Not only that, it is also profane. Way to set an example, mod

If it comes to that, I am good with it. All illegal aliens should be deported. Apply for US entry, as the law allows.

Do you know who/what that is a picture of?

No. Tell me.

Rebecca, you know. I don't think William does.
