ok peeps, i'm back from visiting Gym. He's a nice guy but he always makes me sweat like there's no tomorrow. I might start making that my saturday "thing". does working out once a week do any good? I burned like 50 calories so that takes the 500 calories i had today down to 450 WOOT! That's another half-a-100 calorie pack. hey, i'll take what i can get.

I don't know how you do it girl. I am so not good on keeping track of that stuff. That's why I love Atkins so much. About to dig into a nice porterhouse steak, rare, with a side of smashed cauliflower and portabella's sauteed with onions and butter. Lost 1 1/2 pounds so far since last Monday eatin' like a king!

Came home to an empty house. My son moved. I did the ugly cry as I opened his bedroom door. I am home alone. Officially an empty-nester. Jessica was home til she was 26 and Joshua til 23. I feel blessed they were both so close to me all these years. My little birdies have flown off and I am being very melodramatic tonight. Wow. I am alone.

New guy is pressuring me big time.

I'm gonna drink some coffee and pet my kitty.

caterday nite update:

left the house to go to a liquour store and buy a 6 pack of Corona.......went to McDonald's instead and bought a hamburger happy meal with a coke. It came with the ugliest plastic toy. It's an green plant/bug thing...promoting Spiderwick.

Went on 2 measures after work and wrote them both in the houses. I rule. If I had a home office, I could sit and write the orders and draw the rooms and turn them in tommorrow. So..my point.. and I do have one...I can make the spare room into a home office :P I am all over this project.

I did the atkins for a while a few years back and did very well. Lost 60+ pounds on it. I got sick with a blood infection, kidney infection, bladder infection, tumor on the parathyroid....ended up in the hospital. After that, I have tried the atkins multiple times (coz maaaan did I love that diet) but it doesn't work for me anymore. I just end up constipated and gaining weight no matter what I do. That is why I'm trying this diet. Its not as much fun nor is it near as easy as the atkins but it is working and working quickly. I can stick to it as long as I keep seeing results. It is when I stop seeing results that I start wavering... Maan I wish I could do atkins...I loved stuffing myself every night with 6 hamburgers, a coupla pickles, blocks of cheese...and losing weight. Then waking up in the morning to turkey bacon, eggs, beef sausage, cheese sticks, ..... snacking on beef jerkey....ohhh those were the days... yeah, over 60 pounds in 1.5 months..it was great...

I'm sorry, I just see nothing at all healthy about the Atkins "diet". And while losing 60 lbs in 1.5 months is motivating, bottom line is it's not a healthy way to do it, and thus, you tend to gain it all back and usually more! :(

oh that's just horrible!!!! I can see why you don't want to do it anymore!

When most people think of Atkins they think of bacon and burgers galore, and that is acceptible on it but I'm not doing that. I'm doing lean meats/poultry and fish and lots and lots of salads. The unhealthy thing is no fruit but I will add that back in once I'm at my goal weight. The steak tonight was a once/week treat. An average day goes something like this for me:

Breakfast: 2 egg omlette with approx 1/4 cup cheddar cheese and a few tablespoons salsa, cofee with half and half and splenda.

Lunch: Approx 2 cups assorted green leafy stuff w/ olive oil and lemon, a few olives and about 2 oz or so of chicken, large diet coke.

OR....I skip it cause I'm not hungry for lunch much anymore.

Dinner: Approx 2 to 3 cups green leafy stuff w/olive oil and lemon and probably about 4 or 5 oz of chicken or turkey. I buy the turkey from the Boston Market already cooked and the chicken I usually put on the george forman or my favorite is with olive oil and 1 tbsp butter and tons of hot sauce and I dip it in light blue cheese dressing.

Snack: a few cheese sticks.

Water = 64 oz throughout the day.

Before I went all Rocky Balboa on myself I was also snacking on macadamia nuts or almonds but those days are history until my surgery is done.

So................I don't know if that looks unhealthy but it's not too far off from what I was eating via WW though I'm not really counting anything anymore. One thing I noticed BIGTIME is that my nails are growing like weeds and my hunger is almost gone. I mean I used to be able to eat a whole porterhouse by myself and I only had like 5 or 6 pieces tonight and was done. I have to remind myself to eat lunch on the weekends even, ...which is very rare for me. lol

Ok, it's my first night living alone. I have checked the locks on the front and back door...like 3 times now. It's locked. Windows...check. They are locked too. I have instructed La Princessa to meow twice loudly if someone breaks in. :luv:

jJ

Gotta say - I love your sense of humor Jackie - La Princessa has such an important job to do - so much pressure - I bet she can deliver having Jackie as her "owner"...

You will be fine...
