I don't really have anything of great import to add here, but I just wanted to say that when I was a little kid and heard the name "Miami," I thought people were saying "My Am-ee." That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but I was around three or four years old, so what did I know? I just wanted to figure out what an "Am-ee" was, why some people had one and how I could get one too. :P

Great time of year to be visiting Miami, especially if you're from the frozen north.

1. Have to head to South Beach (Ocean Drive) for lunch or dinner (little pricy) but great atmosphere sitting outside watching people go by.

Then walking the the strip as I call it.

2. Lincoln Road is not too far from there. Nice place to walk with small shops and boutiques. Also another great place to sit and people watch.

3. Bayside is another place you can spend an afternoon or evening at. Many shops, restaurants, some dancing, and also 1 or 2 hour boat cruises

that will take you past million dollar manions of the rich and famous.

4. There is the Miami Seaquarium if you're into that.

5. You could also head up to Fort Lauderdale and do the Jungle Queen as mentioned before. Cab ride is probably around $60.00 from Miami

Hope this help.......

Also try Coconut Grove. Its accessible by Miami's 'metro'... Kind of like a Rodeo Drive for Miami without the South Beach scene.

Lots of Argentinian steakhouses on the northern side of Miami Beach, Calle Ocho for some Cuban grub (try noisy Versailles, great food, loud place).

If you want a really nice beach, and have a rental car, try heading over the Rickenbacker Causeway just south of Brickell and head to the point of Key Biscayne all the way to the end. Cape Florida is really nice and the beach is great there. Its about 20-25 minutes driving relaxed from downtown Miami.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
