Needing a police certificate

So I heard that when the financee fills out her section of the K1 visa appliation she needs to provide information about the places she has lived since she was 16 years of age. Subsequently, I have heard that it is anywhere she has lived for a period of time of 6months or more.

My financee is Australian and she moved out of home when she was 18 and moved to the city for study purposes (yet still in the same State). Would she need to provide a police certificate from the police in the suburb that she moved to whilst studying?

Cheers!

In Australia it appears the PC is national and covers the entire country if this is true then only one will be required

hi smiles

Your fiancee will have list all the places she has lived since she was 16 years old.. doesnt matter how long she lived at one address..i had a heck of a do with mine remembering all i had lived..so i looked at all my paper work i had kept over the years to do a timeline of my homes...

the police certificate is national...if you go to the embassey information above then click on the sydney consulate webpage you will find all the information about police certificates for each state...

also looking ahead for you..tell your fiancee she can get blood test taken at her local doctor to find out what she is amuned to...these can be put on medicare...there is alot of information about the australian side of things in the land down under thread we have on here...quite a few aussies in there that have posted question that you might have..

other posters are correct; the police check is national and she will list all the addresses she's lived at

one word of caution: she MUST get the fingerprint version of the police check... if she gets the other sort it is invalid

when I had my interview the official specifically checked that I had the right one and complimented me for getting it right... it's a relatively straightforward matter if she's in Australia (though it costs a lot more than the other sort, of course), but it can also be done if she's arranging for the police check from overseas - I had to get my fingerprints taken at New Scotland Yard here in London :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.
