Do we have any members from the Tampa bay, FL area here?

Am getting sick of the Tampa ASC center's slowness in processing bio-metrics appointment. I remember getting stonewalled during my Citizenship efforts and now its a repeat!!

If you are from the Tampa area, Please post your timeline here..

Tampa is slowwwww.....

Filed on August 17, 2008... biometrics Nov. 28, 2008... 3 1/2 months later. No RFE & nothing unusual.

Still no interview date. No touches since November.

Another AOS filer who filed on July 28, 2008, just got their interview letter yesterday (over 7months) for 4/17/08. (almost 9 months).

Looks like Tampa is about 9 months for a GC. They are using that money to building state of the art new offices all over the state... not process applications.

http://www.uscis.gov/files/pressrelease/SE...ities031607.pdf

They look terrible. The chains on the side of the building are very tacky. Huge waste of money. Our money.

I am a 8th generation American and hate the idea of chains keeping me in and people out. They should have open arms not chains. THESE CHAINS ARE NOT AMERICIAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Am sorry you had to stop working...Not sure why they have to tie the Bio-metrics with having to receive the EAD...they should de-couple these two since;

1. K-1 with temp stamp can work without getting fingerprints...

2. Make sense to have your fingerprints on the GC than EAD..

Just my thoughts...

Can you try to get an interim EAD? I quote from a source online

"If the USCIS does not adjudicate (approve or deny) the EAD application within 90 days, the applicant may request an interim EAD."

Interims are essentially moot. They changed the regulations in Sept 2006, and where before all you had to do was make an infopass and they would print you one, they now put in a request to MSC to have one made. Mostly, in the meantime your regular EAD is approved. Holding fast & dear to the 90 days anymore really isnt the magic buffer it once was.

Did you make an Infopass appointment? Is it stuck in namecheck or just laying at someone's desk...If its over a certain period of time(say 180days) then you can open a service request to expedite the case..

Just got back from biometrics Tampa. I had to wait more than 1 hour, there were tooooooo many people with the same appointment time. And there were slow, way tooooo slow. I just thought - OMG, there were like about 50 people in 1 hour, thats about 400 people/day, thats about 100 000 immigrant a year in only 1 USCIS centre, ok ok, maybe not that much, some people go twice, 3 times...so its "only" 50 000 people in 1 year for Tampa area. Now i hope for EAD approval coz I hate being at home and working hard in the garden all day every day, i want to meet new people, make friends.
