hey fellow VJers :)

alrighty...so just got off the phone with DOS...and I asked the usual "Can I get an update on the status of my husband's visa"...she said sure.. took the case number and asked for our names...and then she was like hmmm...

i said hmmm what...is there something wrong? she said "no, it's just that here it says everything is completed and looks good with checks and all but the visa has not been issued and I am wondering why" i said...the last couple of weeks they said it was in AP...she said yes it says here everything is complete...i told her so should the visa be issued soon...she said it "should" but I do not know what is taking Cairo so long... :crying: :crying: i told her is there any way for you to contact them because i have contacted them and have not received a response...she said if you hear nothing by the end of this week let us know...

soooo i do not know what to think and feel like i am going crazy...what could this mean...and IF she is correct and everything has been c ompleted with AP and all then where the HECK is the visa...YARAAAAAAB YEKOON KHEIR...i really would love for the visa to get issued but i do not want to put my hopes up...maybe its a false alarm or maybe she just wanted to make me feel better because i call them twice a week lol :innocent:

what do you all think? please pray for us :) thanks :)

whatever it takes...or how my heart breaks...i will be right here waiting for you... 636.gif

I certainly will pray for you, dillydally. You could always e mail the Embassy and keep trying there. It sounds very hopeful !

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

HOpefully they won't have 'printer issues' like they did with Jean. Sounds like you are mere steps away....

I remember a whole back a member nouna said she found out that there are only a certain amount of visas that can be issued each month and that there is a stack of passports waiting their turn. I forget how many she said...maybe 300? Anyways I bet that is what is keeping it so long. Congratulations on being out of AP!!! I'd be screaming and over the moon if I were you!!!:dance:

what the fudge is going on at the clean version of hell in Cairo (USA embassy ) ??!!!!!! i dunno why that woman (consulate chief ) drives all Egyptians nuts with their visa i think they have to fire her

they are so slow there i think Egyptians people who work at the embassy taught Americans who to be slow and the Americans taught Egyptians who to be sucks

keep emailing the embassy and inshaallah you will hear good news soon

have a nice blessed day

I know it is not like we are not under enough stress with dealing with our work and family and regular stuff. Now we deal with being apart from the ONE we love and they keep swining us back and forth and that is if we get any info at all.

It sounds to me like the Consulate is now reviewing the case (all the AP clearances) before they issue the visa.

I think Tammy mentioned that AP/AR is a process of going back and forth between Stateside agencies and the Consulate.

I wish someone had some more insight into this.

Oh certainly. Have you ever seen a US Immigrant visa?

It's like this thing they attach to the passport with epoxy - takes up an entire page ... probably has some kind of radio transmitter built into it, a million security features, embossed graphics, holograms, and it's technicolor too!

It's like a little work of engineering going on there.

( Of course you know, I'm exaggerating ... but, it's a complex little beast - I don't doubt that they have limited quantity on-hand at the embassy. )
