Does anyone know how to reduce the font size in the fillable .pdf forms provided by the USCIS. There are certain fields (addresses, etc.) for which provided space is not enough and when I print the forms out, the details get cut off and I see '+' sign instead of seeing all information. If there is any trick that people on VJ use please advise me....

thanks,

CS

If you download the latest version of Adobe which is Adobe 8.0 Reader, it will work fine.

ummm....I just downloaded Adobe 8.0 Reader and tried to fill out the forms; however, same problem persists. I am unable to reduce the font size of certain cells (addresses, long names, etc.) because with given font size it doesn't display all the details and some details get cut off after entering certain amount of characters.

any ideas to fix this? thx in advance. :)

You can print the blank forms from pdf and scan again then save as "jpeg", now you open that file using adobe photoshop and start filling it up. that what i did to our forms. You can surely adjust the font size. hope this will work for you.

It sounds like a good technique. Also, if something does not fit in some fields during typing, once can simply hand write neatly on those fields.

Another option is to attach an addendum page with the complete information, referring to the line number and title of the field. I had this problem with listing complete addresses in India! :)

I had this problem too. In addition, once you've tried to type into those fields and clicked out again, the field can be filled with zeros or something else and you still end up with the + sign obscuring part of the info. And no, the lastest version of Acrobat doesn't help you.

I just worked out which were the problem fields and started again and made sure not to click into those fields - then hand-wrote them with black ink.

That's what we did with some information. Just remember to put a header in each page indicating Form # and question you are responding to. and in the form type: "see attached" or something to that effect.
