Hello! Im new here and thought where I could ask for some advice.

I received a NOA2 on Febuary 26th that stated they have approved my petition on Febuary 11, 2007 but when I check my case status online at USCIS web it still says pending....do I need to worry about this? Should I call USCIS and make sure they have forwarded my papers at NVC? because a friend told me that it will appear pending til they have forwarded the docs at the NVC.

Thank you!

Dont rely much on your case status online.sometimes they dont update it on time, whats important is you get the hard copy of your NOA2,however u still can call USCIS to ease your mind.

By the way when did u file your petition?

If 2007 is correct, call ASAP and find out why the heck you haven't gotten the packet from the embassy yet. If that is a typo (2008 is correct), don't worry they suck at updating the online status. Call NVC (speak with an operator, NOT the automated system) to find out if your case is there and when it leaves.

Call the NVC:

Hours: Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 12:00 AM (EST)

Tel: (603 334-0700).

Press 1 for English

Then 5 for a live person.

You will need your receipt number from NOA2 (or NOA1 it's the same number) and your fiance's Date of birth.

They can tell you if they have received it from USCIS and they are easier to talk to (very friendly usually) thoughj you may need to call a few times to get through.

I would bet they have already received it and forwarded it to your embassy. But they can tell you for sure.... I know my case was updated online 3 days before I received the NOA2 and 3 days before NVC said they received it so it's not a matter of waiting until they forward it to update, more likely that they failed to update it. I have read others comments that USCIS still shows pending and they already have completed the process.....completely, like Visa in hand completed.

Best of luck.
