Hi again Sowens, hope all is well. I've been over to Ireland too many times to count now and I love it. admittedly, the first time i was there i was a bit mystified by the place...i found it very different than where i grew up in michigan but loved it all the same. I'm hoping we'll get back there this fall with my parents. They haven't been yet and are really looking forward to it. Someday we will likely end up in Ireland, but not for a good few years. I'm just starting my career, and as we've gone though so much just to get Denis here we'll be sticking around a while.

Anyhow gang we're off to Mexico tomorrow for my brother's wedding. We'll let you all know how the AP goes...we're not nervous but it's a bit difficult because we're on two totally different flights thanks to AP arriving at the last minute! But hopefully we'll both make it to Cancun and back without any hassle.

Hello all, another quick update- Denis got a job and started working yesterday! So far so good, he seems to enjoy it and it should be an excellent starting point for his career in the U.S. We have our greencard interview on June 19 and I'm starting to get a little nervous. We haven't put anything together for it yet, and he's just started working and I'm starting my first "real" job (not an internship or summer job) on Monday. So we'll have our work cut out for us the next couple of weeks!

Hope the rest of you are well!

We have our interview coming up soon too (not till July 24th though)

Just wondering if anyone who has experience with the AOS interview could give your opinion... I know that they give some people a harder time then others, whether it is for racial or age reasons, or just randomly. How have people from Ireland tended to find the interviews? Easy, hard or all of the above? We live near Boston, which tends to be a very pro-Irish area. Just wondering if that would make things easier for us... I mean I know we couldn't count on that and will obviously have lots of evidence prepared, but just trying to prepare for what it is likely to be like.

Thanks!

Hope everyone is doing well! I am planning a trip to Cork in about a month and a half and am soooo excited for it (even though I'm the USC and not bringing the hubby with me! Just staying with his family) I can't wait for the good chips and good chocolate that I had when I was living there!

J- enjoy your trip to Cork! I'm so jealous- I am hoping we'll get there in November or so. If you get a chance go to Deanos fish and chips and get some chips with cheese and garlic mayo...i've been dying for them since December.

We have out greencard interview in a week in Indianapolis and we'll be sure to post our experience on here. We went through the list of questions this weekend and had a good laugh about being sure we know which drawers I keep my underwear in and where he keeps his :) I'm pretty excited about the interview myself- interested to see how it all runs, what they ask, etc. since we've nothing to hide there's nothing to be nervous about.

Hope to get updates from other folks soon!

Good luck on your interview ddurkin! I'm sure it will go great and I can't wait to hear the details.

One of my first stops in Cork will be this little chipper Hoggy's for the chips cheese & garlic. James thinks it should be condemned by the board of health, but my friends and I LOVE it - it was right down the street from our apartment building and a frequent stop on the way home from the pub :D

Congrats Denis and Doria

Well, I'm not an Irish in the US since we're now living in Cork...see my post HERE.

I've been going a bit overboard on chocolate, taytos and garlic chips and cheese from the local chip shop...yummy!! It's starting to level out now and today I only had a pack of Maltesers, Dairy Milk Bubbly and a Walnut Whip ;) I make myself and the bump feel better by eating double loads of veggies.

Anyways, hope everyone is doing well and your cases are moving along. Any word on an interview Colleen?

Chat to ye soon
