I think it's a perfect letter to someone who is telling himself that he's trying to pick up a twenty-something on craigslist because it's his wife's fault for being old and fat and tired from chasing after the kids. I don't think that's man-hating, I think that's hating on a lying jackas$ who is cheating on his wife.

I can't believe people are defending the cheating guy here. What, you think he should cheat on his wife because he deserves a hot younger woman?

I don't think anyone is saying that; in fact, I believe most here actually agree with the general sentiment of the letter. However, it's the overall hostile tone that bothers quite a few (myself included).

It's over the top. But 'she must be a bitter housewife' certainly sounds like dismissing her observations. (And I'd bet single, and occasionally running into guys that are cheaters but bill themselves at not cheating, because their wife is not attractive to them.)

As I see it, there's no one person at fault for destroying a marriage. It takes two to get into a marriage and therefore, I believe it also takes two to get out of one as well. I don't just mean divorce, either.

A similar letter could be written from the husband's side about his wife, I'm sure -- but it'd be just as misplaced. Both spouses need to attend to the other's needs. If they don't, problems over time may occur. Happiness in a marriage isn't the job of one person; it's the responsibility of both people.
