In the Minneapolis area, we have one FM station that would play most of those albums, and its owned by MPR.

Dan stop feeding into our Mpls nostalgia. If Rey sees that he's going to pack us up and move back in 5 seconds.

That is one boy that loves MPR, and I love the Current, too. :( We're both a little homesick, it's safe to say.

You can listen to the current online: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/radio/services/the_current/

Gogol Bordello - Super Taranta!

Radiohead - In Rainbows

PJ Harvey - White Chalk

Blackfield - Blackfield II

Opeth - The Roundhouse Tapes

Explosions in the Sky - All of a Sudden I Miss Everyone

Silverchair - Young Modern

Jose Gonzalez - In Our Nature

Saul Williams - The Inevitable Rise and Liberation of Niggy Tardust

Lucinda Williams - West

The Crimea - Secrets of the Witching Hour

The John Butler Trio - Grand National

Serj Tankian - Elect the Dead

Bjork - Volta

I'm sure I'll think of more later.

The Grammies are more popular music awards. I would agree with you on several of those albums, but thier appeal is limited. How often do you hear most of those artists on commercial radio?

In the Minneapolis area, we have one FM station that would play most of those albums, and its owned by MPR.

The problem with the "appeal" of the albums is that it is a false stipulation. The appeal of popular music is generated artificially by the puppetmasters at the major labels.

Yes, and music award shows claim to be about quality. You're not even good at being patronizing.

ah, but I have worked in the music biz, as well as advertising, have you?

Not exactly. However, my fiancee has and actually has a degree in it. Also, one of my best friends worked in the industry for years before returning to start a band.

Also, you seem to deflect the point and resort to ad hominems, as usual.

If Bjork is coo coo, I want to hear your judgement of Amy Wino. Also, Bjork has one of the most accomplished voices in the music industry. Whether you like her style or not, to say that Amy Winehouse is a better singer is just silly.

No. I made a point (based on my experience in the music AND marketing fields) & you didn't like it so you decided to tear me down. ####### ever.

PS: You are not your fiancee, are you?

You made an implied insult in the guise of a point. I didn't tear you down, I just pointed out that marketing does not equal quality, which is what the awards show claim to be about.

P.S. - I'll play nice.
