i wonder, the service centers also process h1 visa's - april 1 was the deadline - there are like 23 billion indians filing h1's this year - i bet that definately has an impact on processing - surely they need all the resources to sort through 23 billion h1s.

Timeline

3/09/07 - Mailed out I-751 to TSC - expiration date is 03/13/07 - Cutting it close!

3/12/07 - USPS confirms delivery

3/13/07 - Check clears bank

3/21/07 - Reciept for BioMetrics Fee

here' s a phone number to vermont service center - who's daring enough to call it?

(802) 527-4913

and here's an interesting piece i found:

In addition to temporary visas, the Vermont Service Center currently handles all TPS renewals (roughly 300,000 per year), I-130s and I-601s filed in Canada, Violence Against Women Act cases (I-360s, U visas and T visas), and border adjudications under NAFTA. This presents VSC with a large and irregular workload, and may lead to periodic backlogs

Lol just ask me, I can give you the same answer:

You: "I would like to enquire as to the status of my case."

VSC: " grrrr.... you just woke me up ... grrrr ... and I don't even want to work today ... grrrrr...."

You: " ..."

VSC: " what do I have to do for you today?!"

VSC: " what's your case number"

You: "SRC123234980"

*typing*

VSC: " It shows you're within the processing time. have a nice day."

You: " But you've had my application for over a year now..."

VSC: " They are currently processing applications filed..."

VSC: " When is your NOA1 date?"

You: " Feb 27, 2007"

VSC: " Well they currently process applications filed beginning of February... you will be approved soon!"

You: "ok"

VSC: " Well have a nice day"

You: "um..."

Let’s be realistic about this and not hope for a “miracle” every day.

Best estimate:

End of April; at least “50%” of (02/25/08) approved

End of May; all of (02/25/08) and most of (02/26/08) approved

In the meantime take a deep breath sit back and let USCIS sweat
