Hey all!

Okay I phoned the lovely USCIS today because its been over 60 days since i received my NOA1. And I was told that they are just now processing July applications, and that it would be another 4-6 months until they processed or even looked at our K1 application. So Im looking at that lovely little processing times on the website, and I'm just curious. How can they be processing applications for NonImmigrant workers faster than family typed base visas??? What is this, Im just peeved I mean I knew we would have to wait for like 4 months or so from the NOA1 until the NOA2, but for them to take up to 9 months just to even look at an application.. are they serious?? Just wondering if anyone else is running into this .. which Im sure you guys are. Why is it that they are processing applications of immigrant workers before family based visa's ... Is it easier and less time consuming.. I thought they put family visas and spouse visas foremost before other types??? Any feedback is good, as we are both fustrated and very upset by this... ARGH :(

Take care all!

Hi!

First off.. They aren't just on July applications.. They give themself a 6-month cushion, so if you ever ask what date they are on, they will subtract 6 months. Demonstrated from our VJ timelines..There are MANY October filers that have been approved...Hang in there.. you should have another month or so to get your NOA2....

As far as the nonimmigrant workers.......there are LOTS more of them, then there are of us......

I'm seeing that you sent your petition to the Texas service center....

They no longer process K visas.

It would be either the Vermont or California service centers.

I hope they have sent it to the correct center for you.

Don't worry...October filers have already been approved....they just give themselves that cushion as Kit said.

Hang in there! (F)

Well - it depends.

I am a July 2007 filer - and we got approved in January 2008. Fortunately everything went fast after that and I already received my Visa.

So it IS quite possible that you have to wait 6 months before your get your NOA 2.

but the way it seems right now processing times are getting shorter again and hopefully you won't have to wait so long.

our K1 Timeline:

07/23/07 - application sent to VSC

08/04/07 - NOA 1

01/02/08 - NOA 2

01/09/08 - petition left NVC

01/12/08 - received pack 3

01/17/08 - received pack 4

01/25/08 - Visa Interview in Frankfurt

02/04/08 - Visa in Mail

02/17/08 - oneway to NYC
