Like I said, I don't care either way. But an unflattering piece during an election year isn't just random chance. Believe what you all want.

So any unflattering piece a paper publishes is "Swiftboating"? You learn something new every day.....

Thats all the Swift Boat Veterans did, point out facts (yeah I know, some of you think they were lies) that make Kerry look bad. This is the same. And no Dev, I don't think it's right no matter which side does it. Politics is a dirty business and both sides roll in the mud.

McCain Speaks Up

Sen. John McCain -- who has publicly endorsed Bush and even appealed for donations to the President's campaign -- came to Kerry's defense on this. McCain didn't witness the events in question, of course. But he told the Associated Press in an August 5 interview:

McCain : I think the ad is dishonest and dishonorable. As it is none of these individuals served on the boat (Kerry) commanded. Many of his crewmates have testified to his courage under fire. I think John Kerry served honorably in Vietnam.

At this point, 35 years later and half a world away, we see no way to resolve which of these versions of reality is closer to the truth.

Which is it? Dirty Dems or politics?

Well, since Ciny McCain's grudges reference something the Republicans did in 2000 I'm not sure it's about the Democrats

It's the fact that it's brought out now. It's meant to embarrass McCain before an election. It's something that the dems say the reps do when in reality both sides do it. It's called politics.

It looks like the dems can swift boat with the best of them.

it's not swiftboating if the dems do it :bonk::lol:

Yeah I know. I forgot the double standard factor.

If you know it's just politics, then why complain?

There is a difference between making an observation and a complaint. Who cares what either side does? Lets just be honest about it.
