Did you pick your friends because of their looks for this eventuality? One has to wonder what you would have done had there been no beautiful people available. I'll put this attitude down to the vagaries of youth. :P

 I have friends that aren't nice to look at I just didn't chose them for my wedding party. I had them do things like getting people to sign the guestbook. I'm sure it's just because I'm young and silly. I never said it was the right thing to do. Neil thought I was insane but just went along with it.

A friend of mine in the UK did the same thing. She didn't say as much, but it was pretty obvious. Pissed off her best friend at the time.

I think if I found out a friend of mine did that, regardless of whether I was a chosen one, we wouldn't be friends anymore.

They're not.

Still speechless over this...

sorry dev...did I ever mention that I'm a "mean girl"?

Did you serve them chicken bones at the reception and place newspaper obituaries for them to use as napkins?

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Without a doubt.

Thirded, actually.

Amber...of course it's your right to do what you please...so it really doesn't affect me one way or another...BUT I have to wonder....if you had a best friend who did the same to you...I wonder how you'd feel. Taste is a subjective thing, and God forbid you aren't in the top 5 good looking ppl in your friend's circle.

Really, what sort of women are poring over 'You and Your Wedding' magazine and answering quizzes like this in the first place?!

I think it can be nice to have bridesmaids, but I feel pretty strongly that the bride/groom should pay for the dress/shoes/jewellery, unless the bridesmaid can wear a dress she already owns.

It's nicer for youngsters to be bridesmaids, I think! I was 10 and my sister was 6 when we were bridesmaids for my aunt and uncle and it was fabulous! I remember being all excited at going to fittings and having pretty shoes bought for me, and I was able to watch my aunt having her hair and make-up done - wow! And my little sis stole the show; old enough to be very well behaved, but young enough to look so cute and be doted on.

With that in mind I'm strongly considering having my other little sis, who'll be 10 when I'm married, as a bridesmaid, just so she can have the thrill of getting to wear a lovely dress and stand up with me :D And of course, when you're that young, you don't have to do a thing! Just stand there and look cute. I wasn't going to have any bridesmaids as it's going to be a very informal affair, but having her as one may be fun.
