A bizarre incident in Kentucky. A paralyzed man was taken to the hospital Tuesday after four of his toes were chewed off by his pit bull puppy.

The puppy, a five-month-old pit bull named China, was taken away without resistance by Lexington animal control officers after the incident.

Authorities said the victim is a man in his late 20's who is paralyzed from the waist down.

The victim's friend Tim Cantrell, who had stayed the night, discovered the injuries, "I want to say the dog's not a bad dog. It's just a puppy. It's that guy's pride and joy, you know. I don't know what happened. I guess it was just playing and just kept playing."

Animal control officials said they will keep the dog in quarantine for at least ten days. According to his friend the victim wants to get the dog back.
