Hi, so many questions today! So, i dont actually need the 2nd packet for the K-1 untill my fiances apt. at the embassy? Also, the NOA2 notice is actually the date for the interview?

Another question- how soon in advance do they let you know when the apt. is?

The embassy will send the packet to the person having the interview usually at least a month before the interview with all the forms required and all necessary information also including info for the medical and they will then state the interview date, the NOA2 is just the acceptance for it to continue on in procession

NOA2 is approval notice from USCIS, it has nothing to do with the further processing by NVC and Consulate.

After NOA2 it goes to NVC and then on to consulate, after consulate receives they send out a packet of instructions and a few forms to fill out and return to the consulate, then will send out a second packet with interview appointment.

NOA1 is what you get back from USCIS stating that they received your I-129F form with the G-325A and evidence. The NOA2 is what you get from USCIS after your petition has been approved. After this it will be sent from USCIS to NVC in New Hampshire and they will run a name check. Then it will be forwarded to the Consulate in your fiance's country. He will receive a packet referred to on here as Packet 3 with a list of documents and certificates he will need to have before requesting an interview date. Once he returns this packet, he will receive one more notice referred to as Packet 4 from the consulate. This will include the date of his interview, and a list of documents to bring to the interview with him.

Note: not all embassys work the same as in returning one and getting another in our case it was only the one and that information was taken at time of interview not sent, so best to ck within your embassy instructions as to what is needed
