Dates can go back if they come across an older file that still has not had a decision made on it. Rather than rush that case through, they just move the goal posts so that case is still within the stated processing times.

You should also note that EADs for K1 applicants are not processed at a local office, but by the National Benefit Center.

This is not exactly accurate. The processing times posted are simply their goal dates *unless* there is a backlog (or the office fell behind), that would be the only time the dates seem to go backward. Essentially - any office that is processing within their stated goal dates will all show the same date. If an office falls behind it will show a true date of that oldest file yet to be processed.

I am doing the AOS from a J-1.

The checks weren't touched yet, so they didn't even touch the whole pile of paper - didn't receive a receipt yet.

The stuff was received in Chicago on the 4th of January.

It just pisses me of a little, you know?

This is a lot of money which I could be earning (I am an Electrical Engineer).

I do, of course, understand, that it takes time.

Oh well,

so the actual receipt counts, not the date of the reception in their mailroom, eh?

Thanks for your help, though!

I hear ya! I'm in the same boat. My husband and I have been working for the same global telecom company for 3 years (overseas). The only problem was I couldn't spend holidays with him here and in the long run be together (i'm eastern european). So we got the K-1 and I had to quit my job to come over here and get married. U.S. branch of our company has a job for me and keep asking on weekly basis when I'm available. Branches from overseas are sending offers too and I can't take neither!!! Sooooooo pissed!!! (excuse my language)

I just received a job offer at one of the biggest companies in the area making $16,000 more than I expected to be offered and great benefits. The job offer includes a note "if green card is available within the next 15 days" THIS SUCKS!!!! Any suggestions what I can do to try and convince the employer to hold off and wait till my EAD is completed? If the 90 day deal is accurate I shouldn't get it till May 6th. :|

I was wondering, I received a notice asking for additional information for my I-485 file. Does this affect the processing time for my I-765?

The NOA1 for my I-765 is July 31, 2009

It's going to be 90 days on October 30, 2009.

Please let me know any information. It'll help out! Thank you!!
