And still nothing...............

Sent to Chicago lockboxes.

Is there anywhere I can call? And the check hasnt been cashed!!

I hope they didnt lose it, I'll be so mad!

Please if anyone has any suggestions I would like any help possible.

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

As of the 18th Jan, the Chicago lockbox is issuing NOA1s for the 13th November petitions. Unfortunately, you still have about a month to go (unless they speed up in the meantime).

You can check the USCIS website for their processing time articles (they update these weekly) ... this is the current one Receipting updates

You need to wait. It is a good idea to get the tracking and return receipt that way you would know that they receive your application packet.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

Is there something that influence this long wait? I thought the lockboxes should speed up the process not slow it down! Its kinda sad that the right way to get your loved person is always the longest. :(

Thanks for info, I appretiate it :)

Since the lockbox was introduced the waiting times have decreased. As I said in my last post, at one point people were waiting up to 3 months for their receipts (some waited longer). This was prior to the lockbox being implemented. Now it is only 40 days, half of what some people have experienced since August. I know the term "only" is relative and 40 days seems like a long time but compared to the last few months, it is a huge improvement.

As time goes on, hopefully it will continue to reduce back to it's old "2-3 week" timeframe.
