NOA1 is a Receipt letter, you should get it within a few weeks of filing the petition. It must have been lost. Did you move shortly after filing? Did you pay the fee using a personal check? If you used personal check you should be able to use the numbers on back of check to check case status on USCIS website.

I would have scheduled an info pass appointment long ago, and asked about case status.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.

Hey Feliz

For what's worth - on one of my wife's Thai websites there is a time line for a woman who filed N-400 with CSC on 12/28 and already has a biometric appointment for 1/24. Maybe it's just an anomaly but it brightened my day. Keep smiling.

i got NOA 1 letter as you can see in my signature: it was mailed Dec 3, 2007 received Dec 4, priority date Oct 30

what i wrote about is that IN THE NOA1 LETTER it's said that i should "expect to be notified "within 425 days of this notice" that means i cannot complain or call FBI until then, while other people have 180-200-250 days in NOA1.

I just wanted to know if anybody else had over 365 (over 1 year) in NOA1

thank you! i just passed my fingerprints last week, and i wish you good luck!

here i quote exactly from NOA1 letter:

"you will be notified of the date and place of your interview when you have been scheduled by the local USCIS office. You should expect to be notified within 425 days of this notice"

so i can only complain if I don't get interview by this date, which is January 28, 2009, and that's a whole year ahead, that's so long i can't believe it and want to know if anybody else has over 365 (over 1 year) in the NOA1 letter

I think this number depends on what local district office youre in rather than what service center you apply to since it is ultimately the local uscis office where you live that will do your interview and give you oath letter. I am in Phoenix and mine said 365 days. I have heard people in NSC that shows like 180 days. I dont think it will go to the max 365 days especially around election time. I mailed my wifes in early December and we have fingerprinting tomorrow. Probably 4-6 months until interview.

No, all NOAs out of the same Service Center at the same time get the same timeframe.

But if you go to the USCIS website and look up processing times for your local office, it can be a lot less. For example, my husband's NOA also said 425 days also, but the website has 7 months for our local office. Although there was a note saying N-400 applications filed after June 1 "may" take 16-18 months. I'm desperately hoping it will be less and that they'll add additional oath ceremonies if necessary—they're normally done only 4 times a year in our city: the third Fridays in December, March, June, and September.

I believe Dipumiah was correct. Waiting time depends on the local office as interviews are conducted by them. I have similar timeframe out of NCS but my NOA says 180 days. My local office is Cleveland. My fingerprint appt was Dec 31st and my interview is scheduled for March 03. See signature for more detailed timeline. There are others out of NCS that have a lot longer waiting time than mine.

i regularly check LA office timelines on uscis website (and other CA offices too), and as of Dec 14th all offices indicated that they were processing cases filed on May 19th 2007 (7 months since priority date) , BUT after MAY 19th in June and July 2007 there was a "unusually high" amount of applications that took USCIS up to 5 month to even cash the checks in November, so i hope that they keep that 7 month difference by May 2008 when my case would be due.
