Yanno, this is about a man who was killed in the line of duty....it really shouldn't be some 'let's generalize about all Mexicans and whether this particular story means you love or hate brown people'

Sorry, I'm crabby today maybe.....

Why should this topic be any different? It's SOP around here to portray any topic involving the illegal acts of someone hispanic (or whatever the PC term of the day is) as being about "oh, no! BROWN PEOPLE!!! :help: "

The only time I really see any talk of 'brown people' in general is in response to an anti-illegal POV. Now that post can be as well thought out and quite explanatory, but the response is 'you hate brown ppl' or some such.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

All of my friends that are Mexican call themselves "brown people" I don't think they find it offensive. I could be wrong though.

What is offensive is responding to a post about homicide or other criminal acts with ad hominem remarks insinuating (or stating) that the poster must have a problem with skin color. The amount of melanin these thugs have is completely irrelevant to what they did, and it is a pointless red herring to bring it up.

don't let it bother you. its just because they have no arguement to back their POV on the subject. i find it sad really, when they start w/ that stuff its usually directed at one of us that has a "brown people" SO.

My little brother has been a BP agent since 2000. He is supposed to take a deportation officer position soon (desk job for the most part). It can't come too soon for me, I'm such a worrier. Some of the stories about what happens down there are scary (SE Arizona).

It just gets tiresome. And it is sad how obsessed some are about skin color.

It is indeed tiresome to read again that somehow illegal aliens are responsible for all the evil in the US. This guy got killed doing his duty and that's tragic whatever way you look at it and I don't think anyone here condones/apolgises for the actions of drug traffickers either.

However Troll isn't so far out of line suggesting legalising drugs would reduce this type of thing. Drug trafficking and everything that goes along with it is just one of the manifestations of some very destructive behaviours. Legalizing drugs would at least remove the marginalisation that surrounds it and creates these underground networks where law has very little meaning.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

i'd be ok w/ the legalization of marijauna, but not chemicals.
