So i completed my package and everything with a great sense of accomplishment and relieve, then rushed to send it in WITHOUT making a duplicate copy! Is it a fatal error?? I do have everything saved electronically and can do my best duplicating everything. How important is this step? Would it matter if:

1. The second copy has no original signature or no signature at all?

2. The details on the back of each photo are slightly different

3. I send the entire 6-months worth of cell phone bills instead of selected pages I only included in my original package

4. I only tell my fiancee what I have submitted so she knows, as I'll be forwarding her orgininal documentary proofs anyway

Thanks... :innocent:

Mark didn't make a copy of our application before he sent it either *rolls eyes*. But since he filled in the forms on the computer he has e-mailed me unsigned copies and still has all the original documents to bring me when he visits so that I'll have them for the interview.

I wouldn't worry too much. You'll need to provide a more up-to-date letter of intent plus original copies and more recent evidence of ongoing relationship for the interview stage anyway.

I think it's only a really huge issue if they LOSE the application.

Thanks, Hannah. I'm feeling better now. And good luck with your application as well. Can anyone who's actually obtained the visa without posessing the exact duplicate speak to your experiences? i.e. what's the exact required documents as listed in Packat 3?

Thanks again!

Thanks everyone. From all of your feedback, I tend to think it's not that much of a deal as the official instructions never mentions this step, unless of course, USCIS loses things, it remains a fail-safe option, granted that every application is as legit as it gets. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and wish we all luck!

Any K-1 graduates?

Well, I am ####### and made two copies of everything (one for me and one for him in JA), so I am the wrong person to ask.

Mostly, I made his copy so he could study what I had sent in from this end, in case any questions arose from that. In reality, none did that we had not already discussed anyhow.

I do refer to my copy all the time to guide people who ask me questions I can no longer remember the answers to.

All in all, I think the odds are with you that it will be okay.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip
