having a break from packing. Stomach doing sommersaults and definatly feeling sick with worry just now. Hopefully will get packing finiahed tomorrow morning then I'll be able to have a nice meal with my family, a relaxing bath and hopefully a decent nights sleep before needing to get up around 4.30-4.45am on Friday.

Really worried the weather going to make life hard if it affects flights. I'm bad enough with my fear of flying, let alone the added stress.

(F)(F)(F)(F)(F) Hugz (F)(F)(F)(F)(F)

there that just proves the stress. No idea why I said Friday...meant Wednesday!!!!!!

blurrrg...feel so sick :dead:

IT WILL ALL BE FINE!!!

i felt exactly like you before i left. and i have to be honest, the first 3 weeks here were harder than i ever imagined. but IT IS SOOOOOOOO WORTH IT :)

Yay! Glad to hear you cheery Agnes!! I know you found it hard at first :)

I am just totally stressing about money now - I still have my overdraft from uni to pay off, I am going to be out of work at the end of the month because I am no longer needed (the perils of temping), I have to pay for the medical, the visa, the trip to London, my flight, my credit cards. Jeremy has to pay his cards off, find a place to rent, fly to the UK... and all the flights in June are just so expensive... I just don't know how we are going to do it

Tell me about it - I am on the lookout already but I am still worried I am not going to be working for a while. It's crazy - it's suddenly crept up on me - all these stupid things we have to pay for and now we don't even know how we are going to afford AOS. It's just stupid. I'm prolly completely overreacting - worst case scenario we just use all my savings and start over when I move which just means we'll be living in a sh*thole and won't be able to get a mortgage for ages...

Savings are things like the small amount of inheritance I got when my great gran died and the birthday money I saved and things when I was younger. I don't have a lot. But we were going to use it as a foundation to build on so we could afford a downpayment on a house eventually... I mean we would still have to save for about a year anyway but without the savings...

Ah, but men will pay for all kinds of body types to take their clothes off! Don't beat yourself up. Plus you know you have a man who loves you. :D

Have you thought of something simple like even just working at a Starbucks? Not sure if they are on every corner over there like they are here... and it's not like you have to be honest and tell them you'll be leaving in a few months.

Plus, just be happy you have the savings. Some people don't and I'm sure that makes this expensive process just that much more stressful. Personally, my career is going well now, but when I was living in Canada the thought of paying for PR up there was extremely daunting. We'll all figure it out in our own ways, though.

I know - I think I am just having a low point which is really dumb. I'm hormonal which doesn't help :D

I think it is something that will all work out just fine but because it is something I wasn't expecting (to have to use my savings that is) it is hitting me harder than it should do. I mean the important thing is that we will be together, right? And anything we do then, no matter how we start out, will be building towards a better future together :)

I wish I felt as cheery as I sound - I am trying to convince myself but I think I am just in a cry-y mood :P

well said.

and who said it's bad to cry? one of the things i have to say has helped me a lot (and i'm not even the one moving!) has been reading the things where people talk about how hard it is. i really feel like people getting that all out in the open is just so helpful. so you being at a low point is not dumb at all, and you saying you are i'm sure helps anyone else who's feeling down right now too.

like you said, the important part is that at the end of the day, one of these days soon, we'll all be with the person we love. money doesn't matter, it just can make things harder sometimes.

Yeah it really sucks - unfortunately in this process it is a necessary evil... I *have* to find the money to pay for the visa/medical/flight etc etc etc... I guess I just have to keep telling myself that even if we start with no savings behind is that is ok... I would be happier with that if we were already on the property ladder but...

I think what it boils down to is that I have spent a long time saving and trying to look after the little I had, even through uni. Now the thought of spending that money when I wasn't planning on it stings is all... I don't cope with change very well (although this process has made me a lot better!!) and so something as simple as maybe having to dip into my savings when I wasn't expecting to has sent me haywire :P

Like I said before though, the hormones prolly don't help and I am prolly just having it sink in that I am not going to see Jeremy for a while - it is hard to think that two weeks ago we were together in Hawaii. That on top of the fact that now I have done the wedding thing and don't have that to obsess over, the reality of moving and changing my whole life is sinking in. I knew it would and I am actually a lot more chilled than I thought I would be (ask me again in a couple months and I might have changed my mind!!).

And I'm prolly tired as well... OH! And I am back on a diet to make sure my dress fits me in June - started today and have been really good so far. But my normal night time snack is out - I am going to make some sleepytime tea and maybe have... a cereal bar... or a biscuit or something small that I would be allowed as a snack on weightwatchers...

Grr - I can't wait until I move and don't have to wear my dress again so I can just buy elasticated clothes and get fat :P

Night guys!! Love you all for being so nice to me moaning about stupid stuff! I almost feel better already :)

aly, if it helps: the real estate crisis is far from over, so you really don't want to buy at the moment anyway :)

my savings are melting away while i'm looking for jobs. but, i will go to a jobfair on wednesday and have another interview. so: i'm still hoping.

we won't buy property in the next 1-2 years, as we will be moving by that time. plus: is real estate what makes you happy? i doubt so. what you need is a small space for you and jeremy, a place where you feel at home.

1 year ago everybody was asking us why we didn't buy. well - we first of all couldn't afford, but second we had a bad feeling. all those people lost money on their houses.

you will be fine, aly!

tonite we hang up pictures in the house and now it's time to dust and clean the woodden beams. cleaning is really annoying sometimes....
