Hi this is my first post here as I'm beginning the "Visa Journey" experience.

My Fiance'e's citizenship is Iranian. However, she is completing education in Germany. Her EU visa is valid through this entire year and she can get an extension if her education requires more time. Last month, for Christmas, she received a B-2 visitor visa to meet my family here in the states. She received the visa through the US consulate in Frankfurt, Germany. Frankfurt Consulate also processes I-129F visas. Should our Fiancee petition go thru Frankfurt or some other consulate closer to Iran (US has no consulate in Iran)?? Thanks for any help you can provide and I look forward to being part of the "community"! :)

First of all, welcome to the forum.

In my opionion your fiancee will have to go through the US Embassy in Germany again, just like she did when applying for the tourist visa. Anyone who legally lives in a country other than their home country during the visa process has to go to the US Embassy where they currently reside.

I relocated to Bermuda several months ago (work-related relocation) and I'm going through the US Consulate here as well.

Good luck and a speedy journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In every difficulty lies an island of opportunity.

Hi!

Welcome and good luck!

I believe You can pick wichever embassy you want.

I'm saying that because in my country the US embassy doesn't issue K1 visas, and i'll have to go for that somewhere else.

Plus i can pick the country.

Good luck

You cannot consulate shop... You are assigned to the consulate that ihas been designated by the US Department of State based on your current legal residence... For Moldova, it is the Consulate in Bucharest... You are not allowed to choose anything else....

YMMV
