Has anyone every tried to expedite their application due to USCIS error?

If so, what was your result...how long did it take to get a response from them....and was it effective?

You can see my timeline below....my application was intially sent to the wrong service center (by USCIS) and then they said they lost it

and then ask us to send another application which was sent to VSC and now they are saying they will process it

by the duplicate application date. BOth times my lawyer sent the application to TEXAS because that is our filing location. They are

the ones that forwarded the applications.

May 5-sent I129f to Texas and they forwarded to CSC

May 11-priority date according to NOA1 on Hard Copy

May 14-received by CSC...notice sent (never received)

May 15-money order cashed

July 19-called about Hard copy..said they would resend

July 23-lawyer calls and is told application is lost and to resend application

July 25-sent a duplicate application to Texas and it is forwarded to VSC

July 27-called again...said they would resend from CSC

July 31/aug.3/aug.6 "touches"

Aug. 16 received the NOA1 from VSC for duplicate application

Aug. 16-called about Hard Copy...said that they would resend (3rd time) from CSC

Aug. 17-"touch"

Aug. 19-FINALLY RECEIVED THE NOA1 HARD COPY for original application from CSC

October-19-CRIS sent message that they were moving our application to VSC?!?!?

(seems USCIS sent our first application to the wrong center)

November-16 origianl is at the VSC

Dec. 3-congressmans office calls VSC...will be processed by July application date

Feb. 6-APPROVED!!!!

Feb. 7 sent to NVC

Feb. 13 sent to MONTREAL...WRONG EMBASSY!!!!!!! SUPPOSED TO BE VANCOUVER!!!!!!!

Feb. 14 arrived in MONTREAL

Feb. 20 talked to NVC center....supervisor will try to "catch" the application call back in 10-15 days

Feb. 29...talked to the State Department (Visa)...they had NVC send cable today to Montreal instructing them to send packet to VanCouver

March 4...K visa application received at VanCouver

March 6 packet 3 ARRIVED

March 10 packet 3 checklist and DS230 faxed back

March 12 medical exam

March 20 packet 4 received

April 8....interview date

I'm not sure the word "expedited" is in their dictionary at all!

Ack! That is horrible!!

Lawyers suck so bad!!!! :angry: Doesn't sound like yours was too educated on visas!!!

I really have no idea if they would do this. Usually expedites are used for serious medical issues or U.S. Military deployment.

I'm sure someone will have further information on this.

Charlene...have you contacted the ombudsman about this issue...seems it might be of interest to him. I find it shocking that a Congressional inquiry was of no help. I'm sorry its taking so long, you have really been jerked around. I hope you come to a resolution soon!

We sent a letter to Jeremy's congressman and it just resulted in now getting bunches of spam about election campaigns and how great they are... We never got a reply back or even any acknowledgement they had received our letter - very disappointed and disillusioned with them so can't say it surprises me...

cherlene, I believe you have to call them and send request and see what's gonna happen..

Probably they will do something and expedite your case......

Charlene, I suggest you try the Ombudsman on this one. Also try the USCIS, hopefully you'll reach someone who can help.

I can't imagine how frustrating and straining it is for you. I hope you make it through, and hopefully soon. Stay positive. I'm sure it'll work out in the end.

July 28, 2007: TSC received, and forwarded application to VSC

August 21, 2007: NOA1 Issued (an entire months delay)

November 14, 2007: Touched (after calling VSC for correction of spelling of last name on application)

November 15, 2007: Touched

December 31, 2007: APPROVED!!! 157 days!

January 1, 2008: Touched

January 2, 2008: Touched

January 3, 2008: Touched

January 3, 2008: NVC Received from USCIS

January 8, 2008: NVC sent to Embassy in Copenhagen

January 10, 2008 Embassy receives packet from NVC

January 19, 2008 Received packet in Tx for Peter

January 21, 2008 Overnighted packet to Peter

January 29, 2008 Medical

February 21, 2008 Interview

February 29, 2008 Email received that Visa is being mailed today!

March 8, 2008 Peter arrives in Houston

Well I have applied for an expedited case and am supposed to hear something in 5 days in regards to whether they will or will not

expedite the application.

I did send a something to the Obudsman guy and got back a pre form email response that was basically a brushoff....however I did send an email and not

a form....so if I do not get anywhere with the expedite I will send a form to him..

Well I received and email from CRIS and was told it did NOT qualify for their expedited service...I guess to them it

wasn't a BIG enough error and waiting 8 months is not long enough!!!!!!!
