It sure is crappy that there is only 1 consulate that a huge number of Canadians have to use. I can see how they slow down in th summer, but if it is slowing down now, we are all in a heap of trouble.

There's two. Vancouver just doesn't deal with some of the visa types Montreal has to deal with (still haven't figured out why yet), and there's only so many minutes in the day! The place was packed with people the day of my interview, and they weren't all marriage-based visas.

Stay strong peeps! Your turn will come soon!

PS. Have a great flight Joel!

You've got nothing to be nervous about. From everything I've read (and believe me, I've read a LOT) about Montreal, the interview is a cakewalk. You guys will waltz through it no problem at all. It's the easiest part of this entire process!

Is the hassle of bringing it worth the huge inconvenience of NOT having it and having them ask for it? :) I'm bringing mine. :)

They Never looked at mine, BUT I brought it, and would bring it again. You just never know!!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

beign the nervous nellie that I can be, I took mine with me, but they didn't ask for it. As far as transporting it is concerned, my mom ( a former X-ray technician) told me to roll it up and put it in a cardboard tube. this keeps it from getting bent (which is a no-no), and makes it easier to lug around. :)

I brought the xray with me. When they asked for the medical envelope, I was going to put envelope with results and the x-ray envelope under the window. The guy said "Just the envelope". So they never even looked at it. I would bring it just in case. You never know with them. And Montreal was a piece of cake. You will do fine.

Good Luck!!
