Hello everybody, my fiance and i applied for a k-1 visa. we are still waiting for the NOA2. Im going to visit him in colombia again in january. We were thinking of just going ahead and getting married there. Will that affect our k-1 visa and will the embassy be able to see that we got married and then deny us of our visa? Thank you.

Do not get married. You will no longer be eligible for the K-1 Visa. if you do get married you will have to file for a K-3 or IR-1 visa which would start the entire process over again. Looking at your timeline you have been waiting a few months already... hold in there :)! I know it seems tough but unless you absolutely need to get married then wait. It will certainly reduce the time it takes to be back together!

Good luck :).

K1 is a fiance visa. Married people cannot be granted fiance visas. You can marry but you then withdraw your petition for a fiance visa and begin again from square one for CR1 or K3.

Oh Yes If you dont want to lose this months of waiting you must wait untill they aproved your K1 Visa.. If You married Now you will have to start all over again. K1 Is a shorter process than K-3 or eather CR1..

God bless you
