Affidavit Question- "Duplicate Evidence"

Ok. Really dumb question...

Section II "Supporting Evidence" of the I-134, Affidavit of Support, states in the fourth paragraph:

"The sponsor must submit in duplicate evidence of income and resources, as appropriate"...

When they use the word "duplicate", what are they really asking for? Simply two copies of everything, or is there another meaning?

Thanks again, VJ community!

I'm gonna have 2 copies of all (notorized)

Im not using assets as a requirment as my salary is well above the poverty level so I will have paycheck stubs, tax returns, and Tax transcripts, letter from employer.

Good luck to you !!!

We sent only one copy of supporting evidence with no problem. Only the I-134 itself is notarized. US notaries primarily witness signatures. The supporting documents have nothing to notarize. What's the notary going to attest to with their signature?

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

If your going to use your tax returns, why would you submit tax transcripts also?

It should be either/or, no need to submit both, unless you want to.

Some people request and keep for their files tax transcripts also....so if you have them, its probably better to submit that instead of what you filed.

For some, the tax transcript is the "official" record that they filed their taxes. For example, I do my own taxes, and file electronically and use the optioin to have my return electornically deposited in my bank acct. While each year, I get e-mail notification that I e-filed and it was accepted by the IRS....and I have my draft copy of my return....I do not have anything on paper from the IRS. So each year, I request a tax transcript (usually sometime in May) and keep that for my records. :)
