hello,

my wife and i are filling out the I-134 affidavit of support in order to bring her daughter here to the states to join us. we are both here in the states. we are not sure how to answer questions number 9 and 10.

9. that i have previously submitted affidavit(s) of support for the following person(s). if none, state none.

(do i count the I-134 submitted for my wife's interview? her daughter is part of the same petition so i'm not sure if it counts as ...previously)

10. that i have submitted a visa petition(s) to u.s. citizenship and immigration services on behalf of the following persons. if none, state none.

(i submitted one for my fiance/daughter following, but we are thinking that this k2 process part of the same petition and that we should put none)

thanks for any help. we really don't know what to put after looking at the examples and reading many many posts.

Hi dvd, you have submited the affidavit of support for your wife and you have filed a petition for her so you must answer the questions with yes and state your wife's name. That's what i have been told but maybe you will get some more answers.

Good luck!

thanks. i'm pretty much with you regarding question #9 and i do want to put my wife's name. it's just that the question uses the word previously. previous to theI 129f submission? previous to filling out the form?

on the original affidavit of support used at my fiance's interview ... we answered "none" on #10 about other petitions submitted. (even though we had submitted a petition before ... obviously for her)

her daughter is included in that original petition and we kind of want to put "none" as we did for the first afidavit of support.

anymore help here would be welcomed.

thanks for your response.

Affidavits of support are submitted in connection with visa applications (not petitions) for individuals, so yes, you've previously submitted an I-134 for your fiance, even when the child is at the same interview.

thank you pushbrk

my step daughter, who stayed back in thailand while we were married in the usa, was included in the 129f petition for my fiance. checking following to join, etc.

about question #10

10. that i have submitted a visa petition(s) to u.s. citizenship and immigration services on behalf of the following persons. if none, state none.

since it seems like things are still operating from that 129f petition .... does that original 129f petition count? it seems like they are looking for history before that original submission, but i'm just not sure.

could you clarify #10 for me?

thanks again

Well, I'm iffy on question 10. I had submitted I-130 petitions for wife and daughter, so listed them both. I don't see any harm in simply listing both names there but maybe somebody has a better answer.
